Hydration & High Shine: My Honest Thoughts on Givenchy Rose Perfecto Serum Lipstick

Launched May 2025, this lipstick immediately caught my eye with its promise of intense shine and serious lip care. The campaign imagery perfectly captures that effortless, radiant look we all crave, and honestly, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it to see if it lived up to the hype. Spoiler alert: it does.

This lipstick boasts a 95% skincare-based formula, packed with incredible ingredients. The potent Plump Complex features Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C, which work together to hydrate, smooth, and visibly plump the lips.

Pink Pepper Oil helps to strengthen the delicate skin on your lips, while Squalane provides deep hydration and leaves them feeling incredibly soft.

Plus, a 5-oils complex is included to seriously boost lip radiance, giving you that long-wear high-shine finish that lasts. It's this powerful blend that makes it a true care and colour hybrid.

Testing this out is a truly luxe experience. The texture is a melting oil-in-stick, and as soon as it touches your lips, it melts beautifully.

It feels incredibly comfortable and nourishing, almost like a rich lip balm but with the payoff of a lipstick. It glides on effortlessly, without any drag. As for the smell, it has a very subtle, pleasant scent – nothing overpowering, just a delicate, clean aroma that makes the application feel even more luxurious.

It’s not a strong, lingering fragrance, which I know many of you prefer.

The texture is one of my favourite things about this lipstick. It’s a unique melting oil-in-stick. It’s not a heavy, waxy lipstick or a gloopy gloss.

It’s a lovely, smooth consistency that feels lightweight yet deeply moisturising on the lips. It leaves a comfortable, cushioned feeling, almost like a serum, as per it's name.

You might think of other shiny lipsticks or tinted lip balms, but the Givenchy Rose Perfecto Shine Serum Lipstick really stands out because of its nouirshing skincare benefits combined with vibrant colour payoff and a high-shine finish.

While the Le Rose Perfecto Liquid Balm and orginial balm offer hydration, they don't have the the intensity of colour. This really is a true hybrid, offering the best of both worlds – impactful colour and genuine lip care.

Based on my experience, the shine and colour last really well for a product with such a balmy, comfortable texture.

While the hydrating and plumping benefits are long-lasting (up to 24 and 8 hours respectively), the high shine finish will naturally fade a little with eating and drinking. 

However, the colour leaves a lovely tint behind, and reapplication always feels so satisfying because of the melting texture.

You get a good few hours of vibrant colour and shine before needing a top-up, easily hitting that 8-hour mark for the plumping care and intense colour claim.

Honestly? Anytime, anywhere! Because of its hydrating and comfortable nature, it’s perfect for daily wear.

It’s lovely for adding a pop of colour and shine for a casual daytime look, but the vibrant shades and high-shine finish also make it ideal for dressing up in the evening. It’s a year-round staple, providing much-needed hydration in the colder months and a juicy, radiant look in the spring and summer.

I’m genuinely so impressed with the Givenchy Rose Perfecto Shine Serum Lipstick. It’s one of those rare products that performs beautifully as both makeup and skincare. My lips feel noticeably softer, smoother, and plumper since I started using it regularly. The shades are vibrant and flattering, and the high-shine finish is just gorgeous without being sticky.
