Tom Ford Eau de Soleil Blanc Review: Tom Ford Eau de Soleil Blanc Eau de Toilette

If you often catch yourself daydreaming of a private getaway to a remote, sun-drenched tropical island, I think I’ve found your next scent obsession: Tom Ford Eau de Soleil Blanc Eau de Toilette. It’s a crisp and radiant scent with an underlying warmth and creaminess that’s nothing short of sublime.

Read on to find out why this is my personal favourite Tom Ford perfume with my Eau de Soleil Blanc review…

This Fragrance Smells Like…

Eau de Soleil Blanc has the warmth of tropical sunshine and the creaminess of exotic white florals. It also has a dazzling freshness thanks to added citrus fruits. The result? A scent that makes you feel like you’re relaxing on a sun lounger with a fresh white lily tucked behind your ear and a fizzy cocktail in hand.

When you first spritz Tom Ford Eau de Soleil Blanc, you’re greeted with a sparkling touch of fresh citrus that keeps the scent light and uplifting. This is created by vert de bergamot and orange bitter orpur of the highest quality, which is as dazzling as brilliant white sunshine on the open ocean. The heart continues the tropical vibe with a touch of green, orange-woody petitgrain bigarade orpur and the exotic, rich, custardy tones of ylang-ylang sourced from the dreamy Comoros islands. The base adds a soft pistachio note that’s as green as it is snuggly and nutty. This is paired with a luscious coco de mer accord.

What’s The Story Behind This Scent?

Like its Eau de Parfum counterpart in the Private Blend collection, Eau de Soleil Blanc Eau de Toilette is inspired by a private, exclusive trip to a tropical island. More specifically, it’s inspired by the glistening, crystalline reflection of the white sun and the gleam of the sky on warm, sun-kissed seawater.

But the Eau de Toilette has been released to offer a fresher, lighter version of the Eau de Parfum, which sits in the Tom Ford Private Blend collection. Why the need for two Soleil Blancs? Firstly, this Eau de Toilette concretion is ideal for daytime or summer wear, whilst the Eau de Parfum offers more richness and longevity than the fresher EDT. Secondly, the Eau de Toilette is an introductory point into the line. What’s the difference between Eau de Soleil Blanc Eau de Toilette and the EDP? Both pick out key notes like ylang-ylang, coco de mer, and pistachio – the EDT is lighter and fresher and focuses more on citrus notes.

You Will Love This If…

If you’re a fan of floral fragrances with a sun-kissed edge, you’ll adore Eau de Soleil Blanc Eau de Toilette. Equally, if you’re yet to try tropical solar fragrances, this is a great place to start – it’ll give you an indication of what solar perfumes have to offer without feeling too heavy or intense as it maintains a sense of freshness, thanks to its glitzy citrus notes and Eau de Toilette concentration.

The Tom Ford Edit

This Perfume Smells Similar To:

Tom Ford Eau de Soleil Blanc reminds me of a lot of incredibly popular creamy solar fragrances, including the likes of Paco Rabanne Olympea Solar Intense and Mugler Alien Goddess.

But the thing that, in my view, sets Eau de Soleil Blanc apart from the rest is its pistachio note. You don’t see pistachio a lot in perfumery. Still, it lends nicely to sun-drenched scents as its natural green tones complement the sparkling, fresh citrus fruits while adding a nutty nuance to Eau de Soleil Blanc’s creamy white florals.

Is Eau de Soleil Blanc Unisex?

Eau de Soleil Blanc is a unisex fragrance. In my view, though, it’s slightly more traditionally feminine due to its layer of floral sweetness and pure-sunshine tone.

What’s The Longevity Like?

For an Eau de Toilette, I’ve been impressed by just how long-lasting Eau de Soleil Blanc is. For me, it lasted around four hours.

What’s Special About The Bottle?

Held in frosted white glass in the iconic Private Blend bottle shape, Tom Ford Eau de Soleil Blanc is reminiscent of a chess piece – just like the rest of the line. The frosted finish reflects the fact that it’s the Signature Collection’s lighter, fresher Eau de Toilette version of the EDP in the Private Blend fragrance line.

Finally, as Tom Ford fragrance fans will expect, it has a touch of gold in honour of the fashion house’s signature colour scheme – including the label and Tom ford logo on the cap.
