About Tom Ford
What Does Eau D’Ombre Leather smell like?
When I spray it, the words that come to mind are spicy, warm, leathery and sweet. The colours I get are dark green and earthy orange, and the texture I see is a worn leather jacket with sweet vanilla perfume on the collar.
Instantly, the fresh zing from the ginger brings out the citrus side of coriander and the subtle sweetness of cardamom. As the scent simmers down, the coolness of leather comes through, keeping the composition clean and sophisticated. The base of creamy vanilla and warm amber is powerful, you can sense the sensuality the notes add from the first spray. The smokiness of amber blends beautifully with the clean cuts of leather, making the whole thing smell rich but softer and sweeter than the original ombre leather.
Notes are ginger, coriander, cardamom, vanilla, leather accord, amber and woods.
How Does It Compare To The Others?
Eau D’Ombre is the sweetest, most feminine of the bunch. It’s softer and lighter, but it still has the strong leather DNA like the others.
When looking at the note breakdowns, the composition is most similar to Ombre Leather EDP, but Eau D’Ombre swaps the earthy notes for fresher spices and sweeter notes of vanilla.
