We Tested TikTok's Viral Under Eye Blush Trend
Share
There’s a new blush trend blowing up on Tik Tok every other day, but the one I’m most curious to try is under eye blush; putting anything other than concealer under my eyes seemed intimidating at first, but when I saw the soft flushed finish, I had to put it through its paces in my Trend & Tested series…
What is Under Eye Blush?
Under eye blush has been around for years, following the theory that red tones cancel out dark under eye circles. Now the trend has exploded on Tik Tok: this time using a cream blush and mixing it with a concealer to create a flushed finish. By placing a dot of blush right under the eye, the aim is for your blush to look natural, lifting your face with a rosy glow.

How Do You Try It?
The name ‘under eye blush’ may sound intimidating, but it’s actually a pretty good way of summing up how to try the trend: you apply blush underneath your eyes, adding a dot of cream blush next to your under eye concealer (or apply it on top) and blend alongside your usual blush on the apples of your cheeks.

Although I was sceptical about this trend, the results may shock you as they did me. Take a look at how the Escentual Team got on – everyone has been surprised by the results…

What was your experience trying this trend?
“I hate complicated hacks but this was easy! Overall I like the sunkissed look it created under my eyes, so if you’re looking for a warm flushed look this is a great way to achieve it. However, I felt like a few dots weren’t enough for my cooler skin tone so I did go back and add a large stripe to achieve the effect. The Benefit Playtint was a perfect consistency for achieving the look.
What blush and concealer did you use?
“For concealer, I used the bareMinerals Original Liquid Mineral Concealer in shade 2C, and blush had to be my favourite Benefit Playtint in Pink Lemonade Lip & Cheek Stain.”
Will you be trying the under eye blush trend again?
“Yes, it’s one for summer in Wales – you can get the sunkissed look without the sunny weather.”

What was your experience trying this trend?
“I love blusher, so I was very keen to try this latest trend. I know there’s been a recent frenzy of beauty lovers on Tik Tok using blush above the cheekbone, but now they’ve taken it to new heights with the under eye application. I was surprised by how easy it was to add this trend to my existing routine, and the effect of the blush technique was basically like a mini facelift.”
What blush and concealer did you use?
“I used the Benefit Playtint – Pink Lemonade Lip & Cheek Stain and the bareMinerals BAREPRO 16-Hour Full Coverage Concealer in shade 02 – Fair/ Light Warm.”
Will you be trying the under eye blush trend again?
“Yes! My face looked snatched, more structured and almost made me look a little younger. Still not sure whether you want to try it? Look at my results and make up your mind for yourself.”

My experience trying the trend:
I can be quite self-conscious about my red skin, so I tend to avoid anything other than a tiny amount of blush on my cheeks. However, I have been stunned by this under eye blush trend! It looks so natural and actually helps my under eyes to look brighter. It looks scary as you blend but trust the process. I even had compliments on how glowy and flawless my skin looked!!
The blush and concealer I used:
I used the thinner consistency of the Benefit Boi-ing Bright On Concealer in shade Nectarine and the YSL Nu Lip & Cheek Tint in shade Flush for a warm pink tint.
Trying the under eye blush trend again:
Absolutely. I have a few liquid/ cream blushers to play with, so I’m excited to see how different shades look. I think this trend would look especially nice in the winter when you want to add a bit of a healthy glow to your skin.
