Salvatore Ferragamo Savane di Seta Eau de Parfum Review
Share
Step into the savanna and take in the sights with Salvatore Ferragamo Savane di Seta, a unisex Eau de Parfum made for layering with the Storie di Seta collection – and trust me, it works!
This Fragrance Smells Like…
Warm, rich and alluring, Savane di Seta is like a bottled sunset that’s blazing across the open plains of the savannah. Created by perfumers, Emilie Coppermann and Aliénor Massenet – the masterminds behind the entire Storie lineup – Savane di Seta is unique and unexpected. Yet, it’s still a scent that draws you in and leaves you wanting more.
The Eau de Parfum opens with a splash of a yellow vegetable as an unusual top note of carrot seeds creates a dry, sweet-woody, root-like earthy feel that reminds me a little bit of warm air and dry earth. The heart of orris adds a soft, powdery earthy feel as it blends with an exclusive accord found in each of the fragrances in the Storie set to tie them together. The accord unties sustainable Lilybelle® with timut pepper for a woody-floral, pink grapefruit, and yuzu feel). At the same time, Neo Soie Velours de Laine has been included to recall the sensation of silk. The composition ends with a rich, exotic, and milky-soft sandalwood note, which lingers in the base for added comfort and sensuality.
What’s The Story Behind This Scent?
As a part of the 2021 Storie di Seta fragrance line, Savane is inspired by the imaginary worlds depicted in Salvatore Ferragamo’s masterful silk creations, which has been loved the world over for several decades. In the same way that you might layer a silk scarf over your favourite jacket or throw a show-stopping dress over a silk slip, the perfume collection features four universal and fresh unisex perfumes designed for layering. Each scent is tied together with one exclusive accord that lends the fragrance to layering while still allowing you to enjoy the creative experience as you try to find your perfect scent combination.
The imaginary silk world honoured in this specific perfume is that of a sun-drenched savannah, reflected in both the flacon and the warm fragrance.
You Will Love This If…
If you’re a fan of the rest of the Storie di Seta collection, or you’re after a warm, exotic but still airy scent, this is the one for you.
This Perfume Smells Similar To:
This fragrance has a similar feel to Poeme by Lancome due to its warm, exotic and ambery facets. If you’re unfamiliar with that, I’d say that this fragrance makes me picture sunflowers; bright, warm and sunny, but with an undeniably rich and opulent undertone.
Is Savane di Seta Unisex?
At Escentual, we believe that you should wear whatever perfume makes you happy; it’s as simple as that! It’s yet another reason why we love the Salvatore Ferragamo Storie di Seta collection so much; each scent, including this one, is designed for all genders.
What’s The Longevity Like?
As an Eau de Parfum, this lasted at least six hours for me. I would say it has a more subtle, delicate tone from quite early on, but I think there’s a charm in that, especially if you’re someone who doesn’t like overly intense fragrances.
What’s Special About The Bottle?
Adorned with a sophisticated mix of stylised exotic flora and rare animals that curl elegantly around the base of the glass, you can certainly see the silk inspiration from the offset. The luminous perfume bottle not only honours the elaborate, trademark motifs found on Ferragamo’s silk patterns, but it also ties into the savanna theme. Its rainbow of yellow, golden and orange hues – and of course, the just-yellow tinted perfume within – recalls sunlight horizons.
Values?
Like all fragrances in this line, Savane di Seta is centred around the exclusive Filo di Seta exclusive accord, made from 62.2% renewable and 99.1% biodegradable ingredients. This accord is perfected using the likes of Lilybelle® – a note created from orange peel using a sustainable extraction process – and Timut pepper, which is sourced from Fair Trade farms.
