Salvatore Ferragamo Oceani di Seta Eau de Parfum Review
Share
If you love beach days as much as I do, then you’ll love Salvatore Ferragamo Oceani di Seta as much as I do; it reminds me of soft, blossoming petals floating on the sea as it laps at your feet. Read on to find out more about Salvatore Ferragamo’s aquatic-floral fragrance, which is part of the sophisticated Storie di Seta collection…
This Fragrance Smells Like…
Inspired by the vigour and allure of the sea, Oceani di Seta is a perfect olfactory portrayal of a deep and mysterious underwater paradise.
As you’d expect, the Eau de Parfum hits you like a wave, opening with a fresh, salty accord; it’s instantly cool and oceanic. The heart scatters creamy, velvety petals over the ocean as it welcomes lush, lemony-floral magnolia, which harmonises with an exclusive accord, Filo di Seta. This unique facet is found in each of the Storie di Seta line fragrances, allowing them to blend perfectly when worn together. The accord comprises the likes of Lilybelle® and woody-floral, pink grapefruit and yuzu-like timut pepper, while Neo Soie Velours de Laine mimics the sensation of silk. Finally, almond-like heliotrope adds a warm, hazy feel to the fragrance as it warms seductively on your skin.
What’s The Story Behind This Scent?
As with the whole Storie di Seta collection, Oceani Eau de Parfum seeks inspiration from the exotic worlds created in Salvatore Ferragamo’s masterful silk materials. Here, Ferragamo explores the underwater world, reflected in the stunningly adorned flacon and salty facet.
But the thing that makes this fragrance stand out is the fact that it’s part of the Storie di Seta collection, and that has layering in mind. If you fancy stepping out of the depths of the ocean to dip your toes in the water instead, while perhaps breathing in the natural aromas of a nearby hidden paradise, then you can find your favourite fragrance combination by layering Oceani with one, two or even three of the other perfumes in the range. The possibilities are endless!
You Will Love This If…
If you’re a fan of aquatic fragrances that still have a softer, floral feel, then this will be right up your street. It recalls the sea through its salty facet, but it doesn’t drench you in startling, cold facets; it feels refreshingly aquatic at first but settles into a sun-kissed, dewy petal tone in the heart.
This Perfume Smells Similar To:
As you’d expect, this fragrance smells like the sea and a hidden garden all at once; to me, it smells like exotic flowers that have dropped off their stems and been picked up by the ocean while you’re walking on the shore with the water gently lapping at your feet. And the heliotrope note in the base makes you feel like you’ve reached the late afternoon, and it’s time for creamy, vanilla-laced ice cream!
Is Savane di Seta Unisex?
The entire Salvatore Ferragamo Storie di Seta collection – including Oceani – is designed to be worn and enjoyed by all genders; this is just one of the main reasons we love the perfume line. So much as we believe fragrance can and should be worn by anyone; as long as you like it, wear it!
What’s The Longevity Like?
This perfume does mellow quite early on, in my opinion, although that’s not to say that you can’t smell it. I could smell the comforting hazy, vanilla-like base for hours on end.
What’s Special About The Bottle?
With red corals and precious marine elements engulfing the base of the bottle, the beautifully elegant flacon honours Ferragamo’s silk creations and the sea in one. Just like the bottle, the salty scent is the perfect olfactory portrayal of a deep yet mysterious underwater paradise – while it still exudes the same class and style as Ferragamo’s iconic silk patterns.
