Reviewed: 3 Bloggers Test The Eucerin Anti-Pigment Range
Share
Pigmentation occurs when melanocytes (pigment-producing cells) overproduce melanin because they are damaged. As a result, we start seeing dark patches, freckles, dullness or sun spots across the skin. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone; 43% of women in the UK are concerned about pigmentation.
Harnessing over 100 years of skincare expertise, Eucerin has formulated the Anti-Pigment collection to target signs of pigmentation for more even and radiant skin. The best-selling range contains a patented active ingredient, Thiamidol, that fights the root cause of pigmentation and prevents its re-appearance within two weeks of regular use.
We reached out to 3 bloggers suffering from pigmentation and asked them to put the Eucerin Anti-Pigment range to the ultimate test in an intensive four-week trial. Follow their pigmentation journeys and find out if the Eucerin Anti-Pigment collection lived up to its iconic status…

I first started noticing my pigmentation when I was 23, on a trip to Sri Lanka while filming a TV show called Made in Chelsea. I felt very confused as I had no idea what it was, and I remember feeling like my face looked dirty, which really knocked my confidence.
At the time, my understanding of pigmentation was incredibly limited. I had little to no knowledge of the causes or impact it has on the skin; therefore, I initially didn’t do anything to help prevent or improve it. I continued filming in the Sun, which I now know to be the main cause of my pigmentation. Knowing what I do now, I am much more aware of my sun exposure and use Eucerin daily to keep it at bay.
What impact has the Eucerin Anti-Pigmentation range had on your skin?
The Eucerin Anti-Pigment range has significantly reduced the pigmentation on my face, especially the dark colouring. The improvement made me feel much more at ease, particularly around summer when I worry so much about my face being exposed to the sun. It’s so nice to be able to rely on products that actually work; for me, that’s Eucerin.

I use the Eucerin Anti-Pigment range daily – morning and evening. The great thing about the products is that you can use them individually or as part of a wider routine. My favourite products are the Dual Serum, the Spot Corrector and the tinted SPF. The Spot Corrector is so small I carry it everywhere just in case my pigmentation flares up.
What advice would you give someone struggling with pigmentation?
To anyone struggling with pigmentation, know that you aren’t alone. Also, know that your pigmentation doesn’t define you – you’re so much more than that. It’s important to remember that people see your kindness, humour and great qualities before judging you for your skin. Your imperfections are what make you beautiful and unique. I understand; however, pigmentation can impact your confidence, so I highly recommend the Eucerin range. It’s accessible and affordable, and I’m a testament to the fact that they work.

I’ve always struggled with pigmentation due to constant, stubborn adult acne, and the pregnancy hormones also gave me melasma. I’m very pale, meaning all marks look obvious on my skin.
What impact has the Eucerin Anti-Pigmentation range had on your skin?
The Eucerin Anti-Pigmentation range is a clever formulation that encourages a gentle reduction in pigmentation whilst also providing a hydrating and calming effect. My favourite product from the range is the Anti-Pigment Spot Corrector, as I love the idea of being able to target specific marks; I think this is especially handy for those who are happy with their skincare routine and don’t want to adjust it too much but still want something targeted to address stubborn areas of pigmentation.

My skin is extremely reactive to change, so I had to tread very carefully with introducing new products. Therefore, I couldn’t integrate them all into my routine at once. Other than the aforementioned Spot Corrector, I found the SPF products (both the Day Cream and the Pigment Control SPF50) a really great way to ensure that skin was both protected and treated during the daytime. The Dual Serum is an ideal way to introduce an additional level of treatment to your routine, whilst the Night Cream provides an easy switch if you really want to focus on drastically yet gently reducing pigmentation.
What advice would you give to someone who is struggling with pigmentation?
Don’t be overly aggressive with your actives, as reducing pigmentation needs a “slow and steady” approach. The most important thing (in my opinion!) when it comes to tackling pigmentation is to be vigilant with your sun protection as sun damage will not only make existing pigmentation worse, it’ll also encourage new pigmentation to develop, which is why it’s so great that there are a couple of sunscreen options in the Eucerin Anti-Pigment range as it’s such an important element of addressing pigmentation as a whole. I literally never enter a sunny space without protection!

I developed pigmentation around 5 years ago from a combination of long-term pill usage and sun exposure. It definitely gets worse in the summer, even with every effort to keep my face out of the sun. I also find it challenging to cover it with makeup without applying more than I like wearing.
What impact has the Eucerin Anti-Pigmentation range had on your skin?
I was sceptical at how impactful such an affordable range would be. I have tried brands that are 10 times the price, and I have not witnessed any noticeable difference, so when I started to use Eucerin’s anti-pigmentation range, I was overwhelmed with how effective it was and how quickly I noticed the difference. After 2 weeks, my pigmentation reduced from moderate to minor, and after 4 weeks, my pigmentation is barely noticeable.

In the morning, I use the serum, followed by the day cream and SPF. The day cream is fantastic as it has SPF30, but I quite like to double up. The Eucerin SPF as an extra layer of protection is a must for Spring/ Summer or sunny Autumn/Winter days on top of the day cream. At night I cleanse thoroughly and apply the serum and night cream. I use the spot corrector at night and apply it to areas where pigmentation is particularly stubborn. All products mentioned except my cleanser are from Eucerin’s anti-pigmentation range.
What advice would you give to someone who is struggling with pigmentation?
Make sure you wear SPF daily and a hat in the sun. Please try the Eucerin anti-pigmentation range; you will be seriously impressed.
