Wedding season is here. And after nearly two years of cancelled weddings, it’s set to be the busiest one yet. If you’re a soon-to-be bride, this Pretty Pennies Haul is perfect for you – it’s packed full of the best wedding makeup recommendations from one of Wales’ top bridal MUA’s Charlotte Thomas. Here are the products Charlotte uses on all of her brides on their big day…
The Challenge
We asked Makeup Artist, Charlotte Thomas to spend her 10,000 Pretty Pennies (£100) on the best makeup products for brides to wear on their big day.
1. A Correcting Concealer
Dior Diorskin Forever Skin Correct
I rely on a great concealer to perfect my bride’s base – this is one of my must-haves because it’s a multi-use product which can be used to conceal and correct under eyes. At the same time, it spot corrects any blemishes or areas of concern, giving a flawless and even complexion – a great product to pop in your handbag for any evening touch-ups.
2. A Sculpting Bronzer
Bronzer is an absolute must-have in my kit. You can use it in so many different ways – I love to use complementing tones to create a soft sunkissed look while creating dimension. It’s great to use bronzer to sculpt various areas on the face; I always take it onto the eyes to tie the whole look together. I use it as a transition shade at the beginning of my eye look to ensure everything is blended and soft.
3. A Lash-Lifting Mascara
Lancome Monsieur Big Volume Mascara
I love to use a volumising mascara on my brides to really lift, separate and lengthen the lashes to make the eyes stand out. You can build your mascara to your desired volume, and a great mascara is my go-to for the perfect finishing touch on your wedding eye look.
4. A Satin-Finish Lipstick
No bridal look is complete without the perfect lip! Lipstick is so personal to each individual – I personally prefer a satin finish on my brides for more dimension, but matte is a very popular option for longevity. My brides and I will always work together to choose the perfect lip shade which compliments them, and the final wedding look! Lipstick is a must-have for top-ups throughout the day.
5. A No-Nonsense Setting Spray
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
My holy grail! To ensure my bride’s makeup will last from day to night, I spray a generous amount of setting spray all over the face to lock in the makeup and reduce the chance of any movement or transfer throughout the day. A must-have in my bridal kit!
