Parfums de Marly is one of my favourite niche perfume brands. Their opulent scents draw inspiration from 18th-century French royalty. You'd be hard-pressed to find a fragrance by them that doesn't make you feel like a million dollars. Palatine continues this tradition as it's inspired by Princess Palatine; it features a blend of floral and woody notes that evoke a sense of sophistication and elegance. This new release aims to capture the essence of grandeur, making it a compelling addition to the brand's collection. Let’s delve into the details of Palatine and see how it stands out among their other releases...
Why You’ll Love Parfums de Marly Palatine:
- A feminine fragrance that smells clean, soft and comforting.
- It’ll make you feel pretty and put together.
- Powdery violet accents exude elegance and confidence.
- Luxurious purple glass bottle with tassels and mouldings inspired by the 18th century.
- The fragrance family is floral-woody-musk.
What Are The Notes?

What Does Parfums de Marly Palatine Smell Like?
Palatine smells clean, fresh, and floral. It's an elegant perfume that will make you feel your best. Its slightly soapy quality reminds me of the comforting scent of fresh clothes from the tumble dryer.
The most important note in the perfume is a powdery violet. It's so soft, sophisticated and glamorous! The base brings a touch of luxury, with smooth musk and creamy sandalwood.
What's Special About The Design?
Much like the perfume itself, Palatine's bottle is a work of art and meticulously thought out. The bottle is first sketched, and every detail is carefully considered. Despite its unisex composition, Palatine is housed in Parfums de Marly's feminine bottle, which the brand says reflects "an assertive and free woman". The glass bottle has beautiful intricacies, from its curvaceous shape to the 18th-century-inspired mouldings and the jewel-adorned cap. Each bottle is spray painted by hand with a vibrant violet hue, chosen to reflect the Eau de Parfum inside. The finishing touch is a tassel around the neck of the bottle, which is an elegant nod to the cushions and curtains of Chateau de Marly.
