GinZing Energy-Boosting Tinted Moisturiser with SPF40 for review

Confession: When I first came across the Energy-Boosting Tinted Moisturiser with SPF 40 I was worried about whether it would blend into my pale skin without leaving an orange cast. I’ve always struggled to find a tinted moisturiser that suits my colouring; I’m very pale and finding one that doesn’t make me look like I’m wearing someone else’s foundation has always been difficult. However, when I first applied GinZing Tinted Moisturiser I ate my words. I used a pea-sized amount to cover my full face and neck and found that less is definitely more! It made my skin appear bright, dewy and hydrated while evening out my skin tone and making my face look – well – flawless. Plus, the SPF 40 in it ensures your skin is protected from the sun, too. A moisturiser that hydrates, energises, perfects & protects in 1 simple step? Sign me up!

A part of the GinZing collection from Origins, Energy-Boosting Tinted Moisturiser with SPF 40 sets out to revive dull skin, reinvigorating it with a radiant glow by giving you that energised, wide-awake look even on your sleepiest days. So, let’s get into it…

You Will Love GinZing Energy-Boosting Tinted Moisturiser SPF40 If…

You’re desperate for something to help you pump some life back into dull skin. This tinted moisturiser rejuvenated my winter skin with a golden glow and made me feel good about my skin again. This was a gorgeous base for my foundation and gave me that dewy ‘clean girl’ look I’ve been searching for. Like sun rays hitting your face in the morning, this tinted moisturiser has super energising powers to instantly revive visibly tired skin. Additionally, swapping out your usual products for this will inevitably save you time in the morning as you’ll be combining steps – sun protection and moisturising.

What Does It Do?

This tinted moisturiser with SPF40 makes for a natural, dreamy, lightly glowy finish with a formula that instantly blends like second skin. It flawlessly adapted to my skin tone, so there really was no need to worry about whether it would suit me. I felt bronzed and radiant, like I had just fake tanned but without the orange glow. Just make sure you use a very small amount first and build from that if you need to. It’s the perfect energising, radiance-enhancing base for under your makeup.

How Does It Do It?

With an expert blend of coffee beans and panax ginseng, your skin’s hydration is instantly boosted, whilst SPF 40 protects the skin from sun damage, creating vibrant, healthy and radiant skin. Other ingredients include sparkling lemon, grapefruit and orange as well as awakening spearmint, which help to explain the gorgeous scent.

What Does It Smell And Feel Like?

The scent comprises a zesty blend of orange, lemon and grapefruit which is deepened with coffee beans and earthy ginseng, all rounded off with a refreshing base of spearmint. It’s invigorating but not overwhelmingly noticeable, this is a scent that fades after a short while and doesn’t irritate sensitive skin. In terms of the texture, this lightweight moisturiser leaves skin feeling soft, smooth and hydrated after application. For an SPF, there is no lasting sticky residue and I love the golden glow it gives my skin. If I were to compare it to something similar, I would say it’s similar to Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture-Protect Emulsion SPF30. However, GinZing contains higher sun protection and that glowy tint which adds a incomparable USP to this energising moisturiser.

How Long Does One Bottle Last?

The 50ml tube should last a couple of months as you only need a pea sized amount to cover your full face and neck. However, this completely depends on the amount you use at one time. Just remember that you can build on it if you need to, so don’t overdo it.

Best Place and Time To Use It?

I can see myself wearing this in the summertime in place of foundation. It gives that sunkissed glow with a light, dewy finish for a “barely there” look. Due to the SPF content, this can only be worn in the daytime – so be sure to properly cleanse your skin in the evening, perhaps using Origins’ GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser. The Energy-Boosting Tinted Moisturiser can be used alone for that skin enhancing glow or under make up for added radiance. I just love this; I had so many compliments about how glowy and bright my skin was!

GinZing Energy-Boosting Tinted Moisturiser SPF40 Design and Aesthetic Is Special Because…

Just like the other products from the GinZing range, the bright orange tube is hard to miss. Packaged in a squeezy bottle, the Energy-Boosting Tinted Moisturiser is simple to apply. The texture inside the bottle is thick, so it doesn’t escape easily from the tube – which makes for less waste!

Sustainability and Values…

GinZing Energy-Boosting Tinted Moisturiser SPF40 is mindfully crafted with the highest-quality plant, earth & sea-based ingredients combined with non-toxic-to-skin alternatives. The carton packaging is made from 50% recycled fiber and the tube and carton are both fully recyclable.

My Overall Experience

I think a tinted moisturiser is like Marmite, you either love it or hate it. For a while, I was edging more towards “hate it” because I struggled to find one that adapted to my skin tone, but after trying Origins’ GinZing Tinted Moisturiser, I think I’ve finally been convinced. I was worried that I was going to be too fair for this tinted moisturiser, but after watching it blend into my skin and give me a beautiful healthy golden glow, I can’t deny that I LOVE it. I use this as a base for my makeup and it makes my skin appear radiant and bright even under medium-full coverage foundation. I can finally see why people rave about tinted moisturisers so much and can definitely see myself wearing this in the summer. If you’re someone that doesn’t wear much makeup then this tinted moisturiser would be the ideal choice for you, it gives a touch of colour to your face as it protects skin against sun damage. Perfect!
