Hair Gain Peptide Puff Dry Shampoo Review

Hair Gain Peptide Puff Dry Shampoo Review

Hair Gain is best known for its vegan hair growth supplements. So it’ll come as no surprise that their latest launch, the Peptide Puff Dry Shampoo, does more than refresh the hair. The hair experts at Hair Gain are shaking up the dry shampoo category with a new format and formula that’ll care for your hair and scalp while extending your style. I’ve been lucky enough to test it out over the last week; here’s what I’ve learnt…

You Will Love The Hair Gain Peptite Puff If…

The Peptide Puff will appeal to dry shampoo advocates and those who have never used one. If you can’t live without dry shampoo, you’ll love this innovation – I do! We haven’t seen anything revolutionary in this category for some time, and the fact that this isn’t aerosol makes it a must-have for travelling. It won’t contribute to your liquid allowance when flying, plus it’s discreet so that you can apply anywhere! If you’ve never used dry shampoo, this is one of the most fail-safe ones I have ever used!

If you have a sensitive scalp, the Peptide Puff’s caring formula will appeal to you; it’s approved by dermatologists (skin experts) and backed by trichologists (scalp experts).

What Does It Do?

The Hair Gain Peptide Puff Dry Shampoo is a finely milled dry shampoo for all hair types that refreshes hair. It extends your hair styles, absorbing oil, odour, and sweat while adding texture and body.

Unlike many other dry shampoos, the Peptide Puff comes in a non-aerosol format; it has a sustainable, padded puff applicator that’s dabbed directly onto the hair.

How Does It Do It?

The unique formula contains biotin, caffeine, acetyl tetrapeptide-3 and red clover extract. Together, these complex peptides and natural botanicals care for your scalp and hair in between washes.

What Does It Smell And Feel Like?

The only thing I can liken the texture to is baby powder, but it’s much finer than that. It’s very lightweight and barely detectable in the hair. If you’re heavy-handed, you need to massage it into your scalp, but barely. You can’t feel it once it’s in your hair, but it gives your roots a little texture and your roots lift. It doesn’t have a smell.

Best Place and Time To Use It?

The Puff is so handy; you can apply it anywhere, anytime! I think it’s a travel essential, and one for the gym bag without question. To use it, divide your hair into sections. Pat the powder puff onto your hair, then wait for 30 seconds. Gently massage the dry shampoo into your scalp and roots with your fingers. Brush through and style your hair as normal.

Peptide Puff’s Design and Aesthetic Is Special Because…

What’s unique about this is the fact it’s not an aerosol. All the top dry shampoos are, but Hair Gain’s brought something new to the table with the Peptide Puff. Aerosols have a few downsides: there’s a lot of waste, some contain potentially irritating ingredients, and they’re not very discreet. The Peptide Puff solves all of those!

Sustainability and Values…

The Peptide Puff is vegan, cruelty-free, dermatologically-tested, and trichologist-approved.

My Overall Experience

I loved this from the very first use. It’s so easy; pop off the lid and pat it on! Because I have dark hair, I tend to be cautious when applying dry shampoo, but with the Peptide Puff, I don’t have to be. I didn’t even really need a mirror. It sometimes leaves behind a little white residue (nothing compared to others I have tried), but it disappears once you run your fingers through your hair and give your roots a zhuzh. Compared to other dry shampoos, this formula feels light in hair but adds just as much body and texture.
