GUERLAIN Terracotta Le Teint Concealer Review
Share
If you love the look of sun-kissed skin, you’ve likely heard about the Guerlain Terracotta makeup collection. It’s a bronze-enhancing line-up centred around the Terracotta Bronzer, a cult favourite that’s been a best seller for years. Over time, Guerlain has built an entire range around it, from foundation and blush to highlighter and now… concealer. I have loved every release so far, so I was a natural fit to put this concealer to the test. Here’s everything you need to know.
You Will Love The Guerlain Terracotta Concealer If…
If you want a concealer that looks natural but offers buildable coverage, you’ll love Terracotta Le Teint. It gives medium coverage but layers beautifully without looking cakey. It dries to a satin finish, which is the perfect mix of matte and radiant; this would be a great fit for mature skin as it doesn’t settle into fine lines. What’s special about this formula is that combines a liquid concealer’s longevity and a correcting powder’s blurring abilities so it’s the best of both worlds.
What Are The Ingredients?
It’s made with 95% naturally derived ingredients. The formula keeps the delicate skin around the eyes hydrated and revitalised with added argan oil (the Terracotta range’s signature ingredient) and marine extract. It also promises 24-hour wear thanks to its innovative no-transfer technology.
What Does It Do?
It perfects your skin; it conceals everything from dark circles and spots to marks. Even though it offers good coverage, it still looks like your skin; this is down to the natural finish, hydrating formula and shade range; there’s a vast array to pick from to match your skin tone perfectly.
What Does It Smell And Feel Like?
The concealer has a lightweight, liquid texture that feels comfortable on the skin and blends out easily. It doesn’t have a distinguishable scent (fresh and clean, if anything), which I prefer when it comes to makeup.
What’s The Shade Range Like?
The concealer comes in many shades (16 at present). There’s a perfect match for every skin tone. What’s unique is that Violette,
Guerlain, Creative Director of Make-Up, added a touch of pink to the lighter shades to correct dark circles, peach to medium shades to brighten shadows, and yellow to dark shades to soften purplish dark circles.
How Long Before You Need To Reapply?
It has great staying power, so there’s no need to reapply it. I suggest that oily skin types set the concealer with a powder to ensure maximum longevity.
How do I use it?
For targeted application, dab the concealer onto the skin, then blend out with the fingertip. Apply it to the skin for all-over coverage, then blend it with a foundation brush.
Terracotta Le Teint Concealer’s Packaging
The concealer has a weighty, frosted glass design, sturdy doe-foot applicator and brown, tortoise shell-like lid – it’s the epitome of luxury makeup. Every design detail has been considered; Guerlain chose an ultra-soft applicator that delivers just the right amount of product so it never overburdens the eye area or creases.
My Experience
I wouldn’t change a thing about this concealer. The coverage is great; it covered a spot on my cheek in seconds and brightened up my undereye area with minimal product (a little goes a long way). The texture is perfect for my dry skin; usually, concealers crease or go crusty under my eyes, but this didn’t. The formula is very nourishing, and I put it down in the argan oil. I got the best result when I dabbed the concealer where I wanted it, waited a few seconds, and then used my ring finger to blend it. It lasted well; I tested it with and without powder and was happy with the longevity without. I’m very dry, so I tend to avoid powder if I can, but if you’re oily, you may want to. At the end of the day, my concealer still looked great; the coverage wasn’t perfect, but it lived up to my current go-to (Erborian Super BB).
