Guerlain Ecrin 1 Couleur Eyeshadow Swatches

What do you get when you take the luxury of Guerlain beauty and give it a playful spin? Ecrin 1 Couleur Long Lasting Eyeshadow, a series of single eye colour compacts that provoke an elegant game of mix and match.
For this latest launch Guerlain are going back to basics, editing a kaleidoscope of potential eyeshadow shades into a streamlined collection of 12 absolute essentials. There’s something for everyone here, from barely-there nudes to ultra pigmented brights, each one crafted with Guerlain’s luxurious, finely milled formula that glides over lids like silk.
Aside from the beautiful shades and equally beautiful packaging (oh, and those shade names – Brownie & Clyde, anyone?), the big point of difference for Ecrin 1 Couleur is the use of Lastever Technology, a process that involves coating the colour pigments in a fine gel casing. This is what makes Guerlain eyeshadows so darn silky; your eye colour doesn’t settle into creases or look patchy, it’s just supremely vibrant, colour true and long-lasting.
Forget your half-used eyeshadow palettes – it’s time to pick and mix your optimum shades…
01 Taupe Secret A slinky slip of a colour, this silvery taupe is what neutral eye dreams are made of. If you’re unsure about eyeshadow this shade will provide a hint of brightness, and its delicate shimmering texture is extremely flattering no matter your age.
02 Brownie & Clyde The perfect crease shade, this satiny matte mid-brown is buttery soft and really easy to blend, ensuring optimum control for sharp results. Its non-shimmery texture and neutral tone also makes it great for brows.
03 Blue’s Brothers Pigmentation is the name of the game for this velvety midnight matte. Apply and buff for a modern take on an undone, smoky eye, or dampen your brush and line your eyes with the bottomless shade of blue.
04 Hey Nude Because everyone needs a great eye brightener. This rosy peach is an ideal base shade for fair to medium skin tones, offering the perfect foundation for other eyeshadows.
05 Copperfield My favourite shade of all! This versatile metallic copper makes blue eyes pop, and adds such gorgeous depth to brown eyes. Apply dampened for a foiled effect that makes eye look absolutely magnetic.
06 Gold’n Eyes Whether you like your metallic eye to make a statement or be a little more understated, this pretty, shimmering goldenrod will tick the boxes. Apply in a sheer layer for a delicate twinkling effect, or layer it up for a more intense metallic look.
07 Khaki Mono This gorgeous khaki is an essential, offering rich pigmentation and shimmer for those who like their eye look to be edgy, yet wearable and versatile. I’ve been tightlining this shade for a new twist on my usual black.
08 Grey Charles Light grey shades are hard to come across, and it’s even more difficult to find one thats satiny and not chalky. This quirkily named shade is perhaps one of the finest I’ve come across, and looks beautiful when worn as a simple wash of colour across the lid.
09 Flash Black Everyone needs a good black eyeshadow. This one is particularly deep, colour-true, long-wearing and luxurious. It’s a must-have.
10 White Ever This ultra-shimmery white is as fresh as can be, and looks amazing on the inner corners of the eye, on the brow bone, and on top of other shades. Top tip from beauty team member, Ceryn: use sparingly on cheekbones as a highlighter.
11 Deep Purple Have you ever seen a more gorgeous shade of purple? This electrified shade of royal purple is by no means wishy-washy, dressing eyes with rich colour and a buttery-soft satin texture.
12 Pink Pong The definition of a pretty ballet pink. Pink Pong is your classic twin-set and pearls eye colour with its elegant shade and timeless pearlescent finish.
Maxi Lash So Volume Mascara
To complement your perfectly shadowed, insouciant wink, Guerlain is also presenting a brand new mascara innovation: Guerlain Maxi Lash So Volume. This new formula is all about building up the thickness and intensity of your lashes for maximum effect, with a new elastomer brush that really enhances the drama of your lash look.
This mascara is perfect for those people who, like me, have short, sparse and unresponsive lashes. Its high tech polymers, oils and waxes work from root to tip, sculpting and curling lashes to achieve a wide-awake effect – and that’s just in two quick coats. And because it’s a Guerlain mascara, you know that the effect will last all day without flaking or smudging. Pair with a touch of illuminating and concealing Precious Light beneath the eyes, and you’re good to go!
