GIVENCHY L'Interdit Absolu Eau de Parfum Intense Review
Share
Givenchy L’Interdit Absolu is a reinvention of the timeless classic, “L’Interdit,” from 1975. For 2024, Absolu possesses a new identity, gender and aroma, but reassuringly for L’Interidt fans, it still carries the magnetic DNA that this timeless scent has always embodied. Let’s delve into the details of this perfume.
Important bits:
- Launched in UK 19th August 2024.
- Available in 35ml, 50ml, and 80ml.
- Fragrance family Floral woody amber
- Key notes are orange blossom, tuberose and patchouli
- New unisex fragrance in the L’Interdit collection
What Does It Smell Like?
For an instant freshness, the scent opens with a lively touch of lavender, energizing the senses, complemented by a captivating cardamom essence and distinctive neroli. These innovative and modern top notes seamlessly merge with the classic L’Interdit white bouquet of orange blossom, tuberose, and jasmine sambac absolutes.
True to Givenchy fragrances, L’Interdit Absolu delivers a contrasting experience: the floral tones give way to woody notes of vetiver and patchouli, imparting depth and sophistication to the fragrance. The allure culminates in a lingering trail of tobacco and cistus absolutes, offering a captivating and enduring transformation.
Top Notes: Neroli Egypt, Bulgarian Lavender Essential oil and Guatemalan Cardamom Essential oil.
Heart Notes: Neroli Essential Egypt, Orange Blossom Quartet, Indian Tuberose Absolute and Jasmine Sambac Absolute.
Base Notes: Bulgarian Tobacco Absolute, Patchouli Essential Oil and Haitian Vetiver Essential Oil.
What’s Different?
L’Interdit Absolu has a stronger aroma, a new sleek black bottle, and no gender, unlike the other fragrances, which are traditionally feminine. GIVENCHY has modernised its approach to the whole collection and gone bold. Mathew M William’s fashion direction has also inspired the fragrance with its clean, sharpened blacked-out design.
How Does It Compare To The Original L’Interdit?
L’Interdit Eau de Parfum is sweeter, more feminine, and creamier, whereas L’Inderdit is darker, smokier, and more full-bodied. Both have the defining white floral notes, but the Eau de Parfum is fresher with the lighter, juicier notes of green bergamot and pear.
How Long Does L’Interdit Absolu Last?
On me, it lasts around 6-8 hours, making it long-lasting. I could still smell it on myself throughout the day which I loved. Its sillage is strong; hours later, you could still smell it if someone was an arm’s distance away.
What’s The Best Time To Wear L’Interdit Absolu?
From my point of view, Abslou can be worn day and night and all year round. But if I had to be specific, I would recommend it for nighttime due to the strength and intensity of the warmer, more intense notes. Especially if you love the original, this can be your bolder alternative for the evening.
Season-wise, as it’s darker and deeper than the EDP, I think it’s a great match for autumn and winter as it has a richer composition.
