Eucerin Actinic Control MD Fluid SPF100 Review
Share
You might be familiar with SPF 50 and SPF 50+, but have you ever come across an SPF 100?
I’d heard of them, but I hadn’t tried one for myself – until now! I’ve been lucky enough to be able to try Eucerin’s Actinic Control MD Fluid, an SPF 100 formula that protects against UVA and UVB rays, which has been created to help prevent actinic keratosis and non-melanoma skin cancer. Read on to find out what I think of it…
The Most Important Thing About This Product Is…
Specially designed to offer incredibly high protection against UV rays, Eucerin’s everyday SPF is a lightweight, topical medical device that’s been created to help prevent actinic keratosis and non-melanoma skin cancer.
With SPF 100 defence, it provides very high broad-spectrum protection to help keep skin sufficiently shielded against sunburn, photoaging and more harmful types of skin damage caused by UV rays
This includes protection against UV-induced DNA damage to keratinocytes. But what is that and why does it matter? Keratinocytes are the primary type of cell found in the epidermis, which is the outermost layer of the skin (which would naturally come into contact with UV rays more). If these cells aren’t properly protected, it can sadly lead to actinic keratosis, the most common pre-cancer on the skin. This can potentially progress into non-melanoma skin cancer, which goes to show why it’s important to effectively protect your skin day in day out.
You Will Love This If…
Of course, everyone should be wearing SPF daily, but if you’re looking for an incredibly high SPF because you want maximum protection against skin damage, then Eucerin’s SPF 100 is for you.
The Formula:
The high effectiveness of Actinic Control MDis all thanks to high SPF 100 defence. As it has a higher SPF rating, more UVB rays – which are a major cause of sunburn and subsequent cell damage – are blocked out.
This SPF 100 blocks out roughly 99% of UVB-rays, while also offering high UVA ray protection as the water-resistant formula works to absorb, reflect and disperse solar radiant.
The Texture
The pale yellow sunscreen has a light fluid that blends in easily, quickly and invisibly.
How Should You Apply It?
Use only on clean and intact skin – do not apply on cracked/broken skin or open wounds.
Apply every morning in sufficient quantities (2 mg/cm2). In the case of direct sun exposure, reapply every 2 hours, especially after swimming, perspiring or towelling.
Apply the sunscreen before any makeup and wait until it has been fully absorbed before applying other products, taking care to avoid contact with the eyes.
What’s Special About The Bottle?
The sunscreen is held in a plastic tube that’s ideal to keep with your everyday skincare collection, or to add to a backpack, handbag or beach bag for when you’re out and about.
