Devotion is as irresistible as the famous Italian dessert, Panettone. New for 2023, Dolce & Gabbana have created something extra special with this perfume. When I spray it, it makes me feel sexy, feminine and glowing. I can’t help but picture sun-drenched vanilla pods, fresh lemons and a delectable cake-like scent.
And it all makes sense, as Olivier Cresp, renowned for his work on other popular sweet, gourmand perfumes such as Lancome La Vie Est Belle and Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium, is the creative mind behind this fragrance.

What Does It Smell Like?
Dolce & Gabbana Devotion is a radiant gourmand fragrance that starts with a burst of candied lemon, reminiscent of a refreshing lemon and ginger tea. Devotion’s Longevity
On me Devotion lasted around 5-6 hours when I sprayed 4-5 sprays on each arm and on my neck. I was quite impressed with this as solar-style gourmand perfumes don’t normally last long on me.
Devotion’s Seasonality
The fragrance is perfect for everyday wear, but it can also be powerful and special enough for occasions too, you just need to add a couple of extra sprays.
When I first sprayed Devotion and saw the summery holiday pictures that go with it, I thought it was ideal for summer. Now we’re in Winter and I spray it, there’s something about that candied ginger that makes me feel festive and cosy – it’s very versatile.
Devotion’s Story and Aesthetic
The Story
In October 2023, Katy Perry became the face of Devotion. The campaign, shot in Positano, Italy, showcases Perry as a radiant goddess, aligning perfectly with her playful, feminine, and vibrant personal nature and the aroma of Devotion itself. Released in November 2023, the campaign video features Perry serenading an Italian fisherman in the picturesque streets of Positano, embodying the carefree spirit of summer love.
The Bottle
Dolce & Gabanna have created the bottle with Italian tradition in mind. The scared heart seal on the front is a universal symbol of love.
My Overall Experience
Devotion caught me by surprise. I got a load of compliments, and the perfume lingered well. It made me feel put together, empowered and more feminine.
I reached for this when I wanted to smell good, but not in your face. Its subtle sweetness is impressive and set to be a big perfume for 2023.
