If you’re a fan of the iconic Dermalogica Daily Skin Health range, then you’re going to want to find out about their 2022 addition to the collection: the Circular Hydration Serum. I’ve recently put it to the test, and I have to say this: my skin absolutely loved it!
Keep reading to find out why those with dehydrated skin will be adding this skin-quenching hyaluronic acid serum to their wish list…
The Most Important Thing About This Serum Is…
The Circular Hydration Serum has been created to kick-start the skin’s hydration cycle. It does this by immediately flooding the skin with hydration, replenishing your skin’s moisture levels from within, before finally helping to prevent future hydration evaporation, creating a full circle of deep hydration.
What Skin Type Is It For?
Dermalogica’s vegan serum is suitable for all skin conditions but it’s best suited to those who struggle with dryness and dehydration.
You Will Love This If…
If you have dehydrated skin, then you’ll know just how tricky it is to treat; skin dehydration can be a never-ending cycle. But thankfully, this Daily Skin Health serum is break the rotation, it hits you with a wave of hydration and encourages your complexion to hold on to its water to prevent future dehydration.
Hero Ingredients:
Dermalogica’s hydrating serum is packed with the skincare active that we all know and love: hyaluronic acid (HA). It utilises an enhanced form of this active as it penetrates the skin’s surface for deep and lasting hydration. But that’s not the only benefit you get from HA; it also promotes a more supple, radiant complexion over time.
An algae extract-infused moisturising matrix also laces the mix to deliver quick and long-lasting hydration, while polyglutamic acid sourced from fermented soy replenishes the skin’s hydration reserves from within (the result? Deeply moisturised skin).
To support the final step in the skin hydration process, plant-derived sugars and a blend of amino acids, that are similar to those naturally present in the skin, work together to trap water on the surface of your skin to help prevent future evaporation. As an added bonus, a postbiotic blend of lactobacillus ferment and Avena extract help balance the skin’s microbiome for a healthy, fresh and thoroughly hydrated complexion.
What Does It Feel Like?
This Dermalogica serum has a diluted liquid texture that’s slightly thicker than water but feels really light and fresh on the skin. I’d definitely say that the pipette top comes in handy during the application process due to its liquid format, but I was also really impressed with just how weightless and hydrating the serum felt on my skin; it glides over your complexion really easily and soaks into your skin in a matter of moments.
What Does It Smell Like?
The serum has an almost medicinal, citrus-like scent, but you can’t notice it once it’s soaked into your complexion.
How Do You Use The Product?
Smooth a few drops of the serum over cleansed skin in the morning and evening, blending into your face and neck after toning and before moisturising. As it has a lightweight liquid texture, a little goes a long way!
What’s Special About The Design?
I’ll be honest – I love serums that come with pipettes. To start with, they’re really easy to use as they allow you to draw up and apply just the right amount of formula, so you don’t have to worry about using too much or suffering from messy applications. But, I also think that they add a touch of fun to the process!
Values?
The serum is housed within a slim, recyclable cardboard carton, which has been produced using paper from FSC-certified, responsibly managed forests.
The formula itself is vegan and cruelty-free, while it’s also gluten-free, artificial colour-free and artificial fragrance-free.
