Dermalogica Clear Start Breakout Clearing Liquid Peel Review
Share
If you’ve always wished that the Dermalogica Clear Start collection had a facial peel, then you’re in luck. The Breakout Clearing Liquid Peel has joined the fan-favourite skincare range for oily, breakout-prone skin. Read on to find out all about it with my Clear Start Liquid Peel review…
The Most Important Thing About The Dermalogica Clear Start Peel Is…
A 2022 addition to the Clear Start skincare line, the Breakout Clearing Peel banishes blemishes and smooths out skin texture. It allows you to say goodbye to pesky breakouts, uneven texture, and hyperpigmentation so that you can say hello to clearer, brighter skin.
And just look at the stats:
After 1 week:
• 95% saw clearer-looking skin
After 4 weeks:
• 93% felt their skin was smoother
• 88% saw a more even skin tone
• 85% said they experienced less breakouts after four weeks
What Skin Type Is It For?
The good news is that it’s suitable for all skin types. However, it’s part of the Clear Start range, which means that acne, oily or blemish-prone skin will get the most out of it.
You Will Love This If…
If you struggle with breakouts and you want to take your skincare routine to the next level, then you’ll love the Clear Start Breakout Clearing Liquid Peel. It works in perfect harmony with the rest of the Clear Start range. And if you’re a fan of Flashfoliant, then I think you’ll love this a lot; it creates a similar exfoliating action to lift away skin struggles.
But I must admit that my favourite thing about this ten-minute-max liquid peel is that it’s laced with tiny glistening purple flecks – glitter and skincare in one. Yes please! (Its glittery texture meant that we just had to feature in our #TextureTuesday video dedicated to some of our favourite launches of the month)…
Hero Ingredients:
Dermalogica’s Clear Start Peel features a blend of 10% AHAs and 2% BHAs. The AHAs include lactic acid to smooth and retexturise skin, mandelic acid to brighten skin and minimise hyperpigmentation, and azelaic acid to unclog pores and fade post-breakout marks. The 2% BHAs include salicylic acid to combat blackheads and breakouts.
What Does It Feel Like?
The Dermalogica Clear Start Peel has a liquid gel texture that feels surprisingly thick but glides over the skin easily and sinks in well.
What Does It Smell Like?
It has a slightly sweet scent to start, but the aroma isn’t noticeable once it’s sunk into your skin.
How Do You Use The Product?
Use Dermalogica’s facial peel 1-2 times a week in the evening. After cleansing, apply a generous amount all over your face and neck. You might experience a slight tingling, but this is normal. Leave the peel on for 7-10 minutes before rinsing off with cool water. Make sure to use SPF in the daytime when using this Dermalogica peel.
What’s Special About The Design?
The Dermalogica Clear Start Peel has a fresh look that’s different to Dermalogica’s current line-up, and I’m here for it. It’s got a cool frosted purple look that is fun and yet still chic. It’s not all about the aesthetics, though. It also features a handy pipette top to apply just the right amount to your skin.
Values?
