Clarins has unveiled their iconic satin, shine and velvet finish lip colours as refills, which slot into the Joli Rouge Case. Purchase the chic case of your choice once and replace only the refill, which is cheaper than traditional luxury lipsticks, plus you can mix and match.

The Joli Rouge Lipsticks contain an 84% skincare formula, of which 80% are natural. Key ingredients include organic plant extracts camelia oil and shea butter, known for their soothing, comforting and hydrating properties

The Joli Rouge Lipstick comes in 3 finishes:

Satin: The original Joli Rouge Lipstick has a satin finish. A satin finish sits in between shine and matte, so it’s neither a flat matte nor too shiny.

Shine: The Joli Rouge Shine Lipstick has a, you guessed it, shiny finish. Clarins describes the finish as 'radiant colour'; this finish is the least pigment of all 3 finishes. 

Velvet: The Joli Rouge Velvet Lipstick has a matte, velvety finish that is creamy and comfortable.  

The lipstick refill is made from 20% recycled plastic than the previous Joli Rouge Lipstick format. The cartons are sourced from sustainably sourced forests.

It’s a refill. It slots into the Joli Rouge The Case. The refill cannot be used alone and must be paired with the case.

Slot the refill into your chosen case. Once inserted, you can use the lipstick as normal.

The lip colour has a subtle, sweet fruity aroma. That said, after a few minutes, you can’t smell it on the lips.

The Joli Rouge Refill comes in 16 satin finish shades, 8 shiny finish shades, and 8 velvet finish shades. Each one is highly pigmented, so you can expect a bold, long-wearing colour with a single swipe. If you’d prefer something more pared-back, you can blot them on with your finger for a more muted result. Which colour you choose is completely down to your preference, which is why we’ve swatched them below for you, but in my opinion, you should get a few – that’s the point of a refill, after all, right?
