Share
If you’re a fan of the cult classic and best-selling Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream, but you’ve always longed for a more intensive version, then you’re in luck; Clarins have heard your cries and launched the 96% natural Hand and Nail Treatment Balm for 2022.
It’s a richer and more deeply nourishing version of the icon, which anyone with very dry or damaged hands will instantly fall in love with. Keep reading to hear all about it…
The Most Important Thing About This Hand Cream Is…
The first thing you need to know about Clarins’ Hand Balm is that it’s just as good as the existing cream – which is one of the best-selling hand creams out there – but it offers an even more powerful shot of nourishment to really hydrate, comfort and protect dry, very dry or damaged skin types. And that leads us on to the second thing you have to know about the balm: over a quarter of its formulation is made up of fair trade shea butter, which is one of the most nourishing natural ingredients you can get your hands on (no pun intended…) But it’s not just nourishment that this hand cream offers; it also targets age spots, strengthens nails and conditions your cuticles.
What Skin Type Is It For?
The Clarins Hand Treatment Balm is specially designed for dry to very dry skin or damaged skin. But ultimately, anyone can benefit from its hydrating formula.
You Will Love This If…
If you’re a fan of the original Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream, but you want a richer formulation, then this will be right up your street as it features an even higher concentration of shea butter. Alternatively, if you’re yet to try this icon but your skin is dry – perhaps due to cold weather, repeated washing or your natural skin type – then this is a great one to try.
Hero Ingredients
The main active is 26% shea butter, renowned for its deeply moisturising properties. Clarins specifically use organic shea unsaponifiables, the most precious part of shea butter, to soothe and protect the skin. To help strengthen your nails, this 96% natural balm also features organic baobab oil, while soothing sesame oil and white mulberry extract work together to form a protective ‘glove’ over your hands. Your hands are left feeling silky-smooth, while they’re also protected, guarding against external aggressors – including cold weather, sun, hard water and frequent hand washing – and signs of ageing, particularly age spots.
What Does It Feel Like?
I’ll be honest; I couldn’t believe just how thick this balm was when I first tried it out. And as soon as I squeezed a drop into my hand, I thought it would take a little while to massage it in. But I’ll hold my hands up and admit that I was wrong; although the Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Balm has a rich balm texture, it smooths over and blends into your hands surprisingly easily, wrapping your hands in an invisible layer of protection without feeling sticky or greasy.
What Does It Smell Like?
Clarins’ hand balm has a deliciously uplifting aroma; it’s a touch citrusy and a little bit floral, so it boosts your mood with every application; I couldn’t resist lifting my hands closer to my face as I was massaging the hand cream in to get a sniff of its joyous aroma.
How Do You Use The Product?
Use the Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Balm any time of day or night, whenever your hands need a little bit of TLC. Apply by massaging the hand cream into your skin, working from your fingertips towards your wrist, paying particular attention to your cuticles. Work in until fully absorbed.
What’s Special About The Design?
The Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Balm comes in a large tube with a touch of red detailing reminiscent of Clarins. The tube incorporates recycled plastic and can be popped into your recycling after. At the same time, the outer carton is made using paper from sustainably-managed forests, reflecting Clarins’ commitment to responsible beauty.
