Keep reading to find out all about the Clarins Ever Matte Powder collection – and work out which one is best for you…
The Most Important Thing About The Clarins Ever Matte Powder Collection Is…
To date, the Clarins Ever Matte range is home to two makeup powders, both of which launched in February 2022. The powders have two slightly different textures and, with that, comes two slightly different purposes. Wondering which one’s best for you?
Clarins Ever Matte Compact Powder: This is the one for you if you’re looking to mattify and brighten your complexion; it’s especially beneficial when you want to touch-up your makeup you’re out and about. This powder is available in six shades.
Clarins Ever Matte Loose Powder: This will be right up your street if you’re after a setting powder that also enhances, evens out and mattifies your complexion. This powder is available in three shades.
You Will Love This Range If…
If you’re a lifelong lover of Clarins makeup, then I’ll admit that it’ll be hard to not get excited by these launches. Both powders effectively mattify your skin, gently enhance your makeup look and feel velvety smooth and feather-light on the skin. Oh, and the sleek, chic designs dressed up in gold are just the icing on the cake.
What Skin Type Is It For?
The Clarins Ever Matte Powders are suitable for all skin types.
Hero Ingredients:
This range is more than just makeup: it’s also skincare. And there are two star ingredients that run throughout the Ever Matte line: peach milk, which helps to nourish and soften the skin, and organic marsh samphire to hydrate the complexion. Plus, both powders are powered by Clarins’ cult-status Anti-Pollution Complex to guard your skin against the damaging effects of natural pollutants, making these the finishing powders that keep on giving.
From here, the powders differ slightly in terms of their formulations, but still offer the same benefits (they just use different natural actives to do so). The Loose Powder mattifies and hydrates the skin using bamboo powder (which also helps to lock your makeup in place) while the compact helps reduce the production of sebum for a shine-free finish, thanks to strawberry tree extract.
What Does Each Powder Feel Like?
Each powder is incredibly lightweight, offering buildable coverage whilst still allowing the skin to breathe.
Clarins’ Loose Powder has an ultra-fine texture, which is great for setting makeup as it has a light but buildable coverage (see image below).
Clarins’ Compact Powder feels smooth and silky; it’s great for top-ups as it’s mess-free (see image below).
What Does The Range Smell Like?
The loose makeup powder has more of a traditionally soft powdery makeup smell (if you know, you know…). But I have to admit that my favourite has to be the pressed powder; it has a sweet peachy aroma, which reminds me of the nourishing peach milk ingredient within.
How Do You Use The Products?
Both the loose and the compact version of the Clarins Ever Matte Powder is designed to be used right at the end of your makeup routine. For the loose powder, use the included powder puff to pick up the powder before tapping off any excess. Gently press the puff onto your skin to set and mattify your look.
Alternatively, apply the compact formula using a powder brush or the included powder puff; sweep the pressed powder over the face and neck to complete your makeup routine. This powder is also great to use throughout the day if you’re looking to touch-up your look.
What’s Special About The Design Of The Range?
Each Clarins Ever Matte Powder is housed in a cardboard carton that’s sourced from sustainably-managed forests. The loose powder is held in a plastic jar with a puff included for effortless application, while the compact is more travel-friendly thanks to its pressed format, included puff and mirror.
The outer cardboard cartons for both powders are sourced from sustainably-managed forests.
