Bioderma Hydrabio Hyalu+ Serum Review
Share
After age 20, the hyaluronic acid in our skin (which is what keeps it looking plump and youthful) naturally declines. If that’s not enough, the HA our body produces after that is also of poorer quality. That’s why, as we grow older, our skin slackens, becomes dehydrated, and signs of ageing, like fine lines and wrinkles, start to appear.
Bioderma’s latest innovation is made with this natural decline in mind. The Hydrabio Hyalu+ Serum is a plumping and hydrating face serum for dehydrated skin, and I’ve been putting it to the test. Here’s everything you need to know and what I learned after trialling it.
The Most Important Thing About This Bioderma Hydrabio Hyalu+ Serum Is…
The Bioderma Hydrabio Hyalu+ Serum is a new generation of hyaluronic acid serum. Not only does it rehydrate dehydrated skin, but it teaches the skin to reactivate its natural hydration mechanisms. By doing so, skin stays moisturised, the barrier function is reinforced, and signs of ageing like fine lines and wrinkles are smoothed out.
What Skin Type Is It For?
It’s ideal for all skin types. As for skin concerns, it’ll help those with dehydrated skin.
You Will Love This If…
If your skin is dehydrated, and you’re noticing that your complexion looks dull and signs of ageing are setting in, this will be a welcomed addition to your routine. It’s the perfect first anti-ageing serum, in my opinion.
It’s been a must-have for me during the winter months. Things like central heating zap the moisture from my eczema-prone skin. The serum’s juicy texture was the hydration boost my complexion cried out for.
Hero Ingredients:
The serum’s two key ingredients are hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. A duo of hyaluronic acid (Hyalu+ technology) boosts skin hydration by 60% in just 30 minutes, while niacinamide reinforces the skin’s barrier function to protect itself better against oxidative stress.
What Does It Feel Like?
My favourite way to describe textures like this one is by calling them ‘chubby water’. It’s not fully a gel or a liquid; it’s somewhere in between. It’s lightweight on the skin and very cooling. It absorbs quickly but doesn’t disappear once it sinks in. It leaves a very slight tackiness (not sticky or greasy) on the skin, which I loved. Some serums can leave the skin feeling dry after fully absorbing. My skin had a dewy glow after application, and my make-up adhered to it excellently and lasted better – it was definitely less patchy.
What Does It Smell Like?
It doesn’t have a distinctive scent but smells fresh and clean. Once applied, you can’t really smell it.
How Do You Use The Product?
The serum can be used daily, morning and night. Apply about 5 drops into the palm of your hand, then apply to the face and neck.
What’s Special About The Design?
It comes in a striking blue glass bottle with white accents (it’s in keeping with the look of the Hydrabio range). The pipette applicator makes using the serum easy and mess-free.
Values?
It’s dermatologically tested.
