If you have sensitive, reactive, or intolerant skin, you can feel like you're walking on eggshells. You may be weary of trying new products or changing your environment or habits in fear of a reaction. That's why Avene spent 3 years developing the  Avene Redness Expert Cream, a moisturiser for sensitive skin prone to rashes and irritation.

As a repeat customer of Avene products and someone with reactive skin, I jumped at the chance to try this cream. Here's everything I think you should know...

What Does The Avene Redness Expert Cream Do?

It's a moisturiser that instantly reduces the appearance of redness, soothes any discomfort, and prevents redness from returning. That's not it either, the cream also keeps skin hydrated for 24 hours.

How Does it Work?

It took Avene three years to perfect this moisturiser. The star of the innovative formula is the active ingredient, Angiopausine™ (at 6%), derived from milk thistle. Thistle has patented anti-redness properties, greatly reducing superficial hypervascularization (large blood vessels).

Who Will Love This?

If you have sensitive skin prone to rashes or irritation, this will be a welcomed addition to your skincare cupboard. Having this in my stash gives me peace of mind as someone with reactive skin. Superficially, it's nice to know I have something that'll ease redness quickly, but the soothing benefits it provides are second to none.

What Does It Smell And Feel Like?

It's fragrance-free, so it doesn't have any added fragrance. Its formula is 100% natural, and I found it to have a very subtle oaty smell.

It has a cream-gel texture that feels cooling and soothing on the skin and isn't greasy. It takes a little longer to work into my skin than many of my moisturisers, but within a few seconds, it's fully absorbed.

What Does It Look Like On The Skin?

Once absorbed, it leaves the skin with a subtle, healthy glow. It doesn't look shiny, nor does it look matte; instead, your skin looks hydrated, and thanks to its soothing properties, any redness is calmed.

Best Place And Time To Use It?

It's recommended to use the Redness Expert Cream twice a day, morning and night.

What's Special About The Design?

The cream comes in a pump bottle with Avene's patented DEFI packaging. What's special about this, especially for reactive skin, is that it ensures the formula doesn't get contaminated for optimal tolerance.
