4 Tips To Prevent Breakouts Approved By Skincare Experts

‘’Why am I suddenly breaking out?’’ is a common question customers and friends always ask me. There are many reasons why, it could be the season, time of the month, or even, over-indulgence; the list is endless. No matter how big, small, or often your breakouts may be, I’ve rounded up four top tips to help finally put a stop to your spots.
#1 Consider Your Cleanser
“To help prevent breakouts with oily, spot-prone skin, it’s essential to look at the whole routine, starting with cleansing. People often reach for harsh products which can aggravate the skin, making it sore and red. Using a mild cleanser morning and night to gently clean the skin, remove the excess sebum and impurities without stripping the skin, is the best advice.
The Avene Cleanance Soapless Gel Cleanser is perfect, formulated with Avène Thermal Spring Water, it is clinically proven to calm and soothe the skin. It will regulate the excessive sebum secretions while purifying the skin. It works to eliminate clogged pores and tighten them, mattifying the skin at the same time. The cleanser can be used in the shower on the back and chest area too as this can also be a problematic area for breakouts.” – Melanie Black, Avene National Training Manager.
#2 Don’t Nuke Your Skin’s Barrier Function
“Applying an active treatment such as Effaclar duo helps to clear blemishes. Effaclar contains niacinamide, that helps by reducing inflammation, controlling oil and reducing post-inflammatory pigmentation, all very important in spot-prone skin. The lipo hydroxy acid and salicylic acid work to unclog blocked pores. The glycerin in Effaclar is an effective humectant that keeps skin hydrated. A calm, hydrated skin barrier is so important when trying to reduce skin inflammation.” – Dr Justine Hextall, Consultant Dermatologist.
#3 Get Into A Routine
“Combination skin is the most common skin type in Europe and also the most concerned by skin imperfections. It’s easy to identify: your T-zone is oily while the cheeks and chin tend to be dry and flaky. In that case, you need a specific beauty routine with tailored beauty products.
1st step: Clean your skin, every morning and evening, with a soft cleanser. Ideally, this cleanser could have a soft exfoliation property to promote skin renewal and to unclog the pores. Nuxe’s Micro-Exfoliating Gel from the range, Aquabella is the perfect solution. It uses particles of silica and natural blue microbeads to gently cleanse the pores and eliminate dirt and excess sebum, revealing more radiant skin without any drying effect, even when used daily.
2nd step: Purify and tighten pores to prepare your skin. When the skin produces too many lipids, the pores enlarge, and bacteria can proliferate and induce breakouts. A purifying lotion like Aquabella Essence Lotion refines skin texture and limits bacteria proliferation.
3rd step: Moisturise your skin, with a daily hydrator perfectly adapted to combination skin. Nuxe’s Aquabella Beauty Revealing Emulsion has a light and fresh texture, which melts into the complexion, leaving it hydrated while eliminating excess sebum and mattifying the skin.” – Ingrid Pernet, Scientific Communication Director at Nuxe.
#4 Prevent Don’t Pick
“If you currently suffer from blemish-prone skin or want to reduce the appearance of post blemish marks on the skin then I would recommend Eucerin DermoPurifyer Skin Renewal Treatment. Apply in the evening as part of your skincare routine to renew the skin, reduce blemishes and prevent their reappearance. Suitable for even sensitive skin, it will start working from the first application to combat blemishes, and with continued use those post-blemish marks will start to fade, providing visibly clearer skin. As the product contains a combination of acids which can increase sensitivity to UV rays, it’s important to wear sun protection during the day.” – Dylan Griffiths, Eucerin Medical Manager.
