4 Products That'll Relieve Itchy Skin

There’s nothing worse than an itch you can’t scratch. Clenching your fists, gritting your teeth in restraint, and doing anything and everything you can to distract yourself from the burning desire to scratch.
It may feel good, but scratching will cause you more harm than good. It’ll not only aggravate the area, but it could lead to skin wounds, infections, and scarring.
As someone with eczema, I know this feeling all too well. But people with eczema, psoriasis or other skin conditions aren’t the only ones struggling. Itchy skin is something many people will experience in their lifetime; dryness, burns, scars, insect bites, prickly heat, and pregnancy are just a few of the causes. Every bathroom cabinet should have a remedy for itchiness. Take it from me; you don’t want to be caught short when it starts. Here are a few of my favourite tried and tested formulas…
1. For Your Handbag
Bioderma’s Atoderm SOS Spray never leaves my handbag. The pocket-size spray gives instant relief in one easy motion. Anti-itch technology is behind this; the ingredients inside block the biological process responsible for itching and strengthen the skin’s barrier. The packaging is also just as savvy; the spray has a 360° nozzle that’s perfect for hard to reach areas or wriggly little ones.
2. For SOS Moments
If you’re always scratching, a spray may not cut it for you – you need something a little more hands-on. The Lipikar AP+ Stick is what I suggest; the on-the-spot stick contains antibacterial and anti-inflammatory ingredients that soothe and replenish in a single swipe. The handy stick format means you can touch itchy areas without causing infection or aggravation. Whether you’re suffering from eczema, dryness, or sensitivity, this stick is must-have and can be used by all ages, even babies.
3. For Your Face
If you’re experiencing itchy skin on your face, it’s worth switching your moisturiser. Eucerin’s AtoControl Acute Care Cream is the one that I use, and I’ve been blown away by its effectiveness. Not only does it keep skin hydrated with its fatty acid-rich formula but it’s clinically proven to calm skin. The face cream works overtime to rebuild the skin’s barrier function, which in turn stops irritants and allergens from causing itchiness and redness.
4. For Your Body
Itchy all over? Add Xemose Anti Itch Soothing Oil Balm to your basket stat. The body moisturiser contains three patented complexes that immediately soothe itchiness and hydrate skin. What’s great about this formula is that it feels luxurious, which isn’t something those with atopic skin often come across. The balm transforms into an oil when you melt it into the skin and leaves you feeling moisturised, never greasy, from top to toe.
