This Week’s Beauty Hits and Misses

FIFI A-Lister attendance

This year’s Fragrance Foundation FIFI awards caused a bit of a stir due to the presence of a couple of high profile celebrities. Non other than Kimye (AKA Kim Kardashian and Kayne West) turned up and caused a paparazzi frenzy! Everyone’s loving Kim at the moment. Check out Kim’s fragrance at Escentual

Leading ladies

So France has a new President, and with that comes a new First Lady – with Carla Bruni’s exit she had pretty big (Christian Louboutin) boots to fill – but the new first lady Valerie Trierweiler is looking pretty damn glam! We look forward to seeing what outfits she’s going to pull out of the bag. However nobody has quite tipped Michelle Obama in our eyes yet – her down to earth personality and classic style wins us over every time.

Hot to trot

The Olympics are on their way and all the torch relay excitement seems to have got us in the sporting mood. And not that we’re suggesting they’re piggy-backing but most fragrances have now launched a ‘Sport’ edition to make sure we smell fresh and zesty with all this extra exercise. Have a look at our Sport fragrances.

Side-Boob exposure

Both Miley Cyrus and Rhianna were spotted with a case of excess of side-boob exposure this week. Fine for those with youthful pert bosoms, but the rest of us may need a bit of toupé tape help, and a large dollop of Pupa’s Breast Shaper.

Beardy Men

More and more men are donning facial hair at the moment, David Beckham’s Guy-Fawkes-inspired furriness, and Tom Hardy’s newly formed face-warmer are just fuelling the fire. We say shave it off! Summer’s here and the last thing us ladies like is a warm sweaty beard! Save it for the winter months. Have a look at our shaving range and see if you can persuade him!

Disco Heros

The last week has seen the loss of two iconic musicians who helped to shape the sound and look of disco and dance music back in the 1970’s – Donna Summer and Robin Gibb. Everybody loves a bit of disco, whether it be in the student union, the wedding dance floor or just dancing round your bedroom. And as for the clothes and looks – Donna Summer’s amazing curls and slinky dresses, and the Bee Gees super-tight trousers – these people were true trend-setters. Long live disco. You’ll both be missed. To get you in the disco mood we’ve popped a couple of videos below (if you can’t see them first time, refresh the page!).
