Guerlain Les Tendres Spring Look 2015
Share
A breath of fresh springtime air in the midst of a gloomy January, the celestial Guerlain Les Tendres Spring Look has just landed at Escentual. And what a beautiful spring look it is.
Les Tendres is all about restoring a fresh, rested and angelic glow with the magic of Guerlain’s iconic Meteorites, the sublime finishing powder. According to Guerlain’s Creative Director, Oliver Echaudemaison, “all women, whether younger or older, dream of having a cherub’s complexion”, and this collection has a huge emphasis on restoring radiance.
For the first time Meteorites is reinvented in new and surprising guises to bring the magic of its Stardust Technology to every aspect of your beauty routine. From the liquid magic of Meteorites Baby Glow, Meteorites’ first make-up base, to the petal perfection of Meteorites Perles de Blush, Meteorites’ first blusher – there’s so much innovation in this collection!
Get ready, 2015 is the year of the glow…
Meteorites Baby Glow
in 2 Clair, 3 Medium & 4 Doré
The star of the collection is a product that will send Meteorites fans into hyperdrive. Baby Glow Light Revealing Sheer Makeup SPF 25 harnesses the beautiful radiance of Meteorites Perles… in a liquid format! It’s not simply a like-for-like product in a different texture, though – Baby Glow contains colour pigment and is perfect for use as a foundation, albeit a very sheer one.
Baby Glow is the quintessence of a radiance-enhancing make-up base. Like the Perles before it, Baby Glow showcases Stardust Technology, a light-creating polymer that transforms red, blue, green and gold light to correct imperfections, smooth and illuminate in a single step. Its texture is impeccable and almost aqueous in feel, with a feather light and ultra smooth glide akin to a tinted foundation or BB cream. The dewy formula also moisturises and plumps skin, further diminishing the effect of fatigue, while protecting against photo-induced ageing with an SPF of 25.
The coverage is a tricky one to describe. It does promote a very sheer, almost barely-there finish, but the infusion of complex illuminators means that imperfections are well disguised without a heavy hand. I’ve been wearing Baby Glow as an all-over base, with a touch of added concealer around the eyes, nose and chin for a really fresh, luminous look.
Meteorites Perles de Blush
Angelic Radiance
Rounding out the perfect Meteorites face is a new innovation, Meteorites Perles de Blush, a vintage-looking Toile de Jouy style pot of powder pearls that revives cheeks with a delicate pink glow. It borrows the the same technique as Meteorites Perles in combining freshness and radiance, but includes more highly pigmented pearls to ensure a tangible, yet natural-looking fresh.
The harmony includes an iridescent champagne hue to illuminate cheekbones, a rosy petal pink to add a delicate flush, and a deeper fuchsia shade to revive the complexion. When swirled together, the combination perk cheeks up with the prettiest shade of rose. Love the look of this? Be quick, it’s a limited edition.
Meteorites Compact Powder
in 2 Clair, 3 Medium & 4 Doré
Another product that I suspect existing fans of Meteorites will be particularly excited by is the Meteorites Compact, a pressed version of the original Perles. Now, we’ve seen Meteorites in a pressed powder version before; specifically as a limited edition colour harmony for 2013’s Crazy Paris Christmas Look, and as the ultra-luxurious Meteorites Voyage with its mother of pearl packaging. If those two variations were out of your reach, then good news – 2015’s version is being made available permanently!
So, why the rejoicing? Everyone who knows and loves the Meteorites will know that, as gorgeous as the Perles are on your dressing table, they don’t lend themselves particularly well to transportation. This compact presents a spectrum of radiance-enhancing, colour correcting powder in a beautiful metallic compact that is perfect for travel. Simply swirl your brush over the powder and buff all over to hold makeup, or trace a ‘G’ from the forehead to the temple, down across the cheekbone towards the nose, and then down to the chin.
KissKiss Lipstick
in 540 Peach Satin and 560 Rosy Silk
For lips, it’s all about satin-soft colour. The creamy KissKiss Lipstick is updated with two new, limited edition shades: 540 Peach Satin, an ultra fresh coral-peach, and 560 Rosy Silk, a sweet and kissable baby pink. I’ve waxed lyrical about my love for KissKiss before (read the review and see the swatches here), so I won’t go on about how utterly gorgeous the texture, lasting power and comfort levels are. What I will say, though, is that these two shades lend themselves extremely well to the creaminess of the lipstick; they’re rich and slightly milky in finish, and they remind me of ice cream in the best possible way.
Ecrin 5 Couleurs
in 18 Les Nuées and 504 Les Précieux
The first of the new introductions for eyes is this pair of limited edition colour harmonies in the Ecrin 4 Couleurs eyeshadow palette collection. Each palette features shades that lend themselves well to layering, with a range of textures and finishes that create an intriguing, multi-dimensional look. Unsurprisingly, both harmonies have a focus upon iridescent and radiance, much like the rest of the collection, and captures the softness of celestial light.
18 Les Nuees is so delicate, yet so elegant. Clockwise from left: a deep navy blue shot through with ultra fine sparkle; at the top is a dazzling white shade; to the right a super soft, oyster pink shimmer; and below is powder blue reminiscent of the sky on a clear spring day. 504 Les Precieux is more sensuous, offering a captivating, shimmering selection of shades: a deep and resonant khaki with golden shimmer, a shiny, flirtacious pink, a burnished pearly bronze and dazzling white gold.
Colour Lacquer
in 368 Baby Rose
Fingertips go under the radar this season with a sort of ‘my nails but better’ look. The Colour Lacquer in 368 Baby Rose is a barely-there, light-as-air pink reminiscent of cotton candy. It’s a lovely, simple manicure that gleams with a gel-effect shine, and looks especially delicious when paired as a twin set with the KissKiss Lipstick in 560 Rosy Silk.
Over to you!
