What's In My Handbag? - Binky's Beauty Blog

Like most girls I know, I’m a total accessories obsessive, and I constantly switch handbags – a ladylike classic one day, a chic clutch the next. But whichever glam bag I’m using, I seem to fill it up with the same old kit.
So this week I decided to have a good clear-out – the autumnal version of a spring clean, if you like. Out went the crumpled tissues, dusty sweets and scribbled phone numbers. And out, too, went last-season’s beauty products.
Naturally we rely on a whole different range of make-up products during the winter months, so a handbag clear-out is the perfect opportunity to restock with the very best autumn has to offer.
This is what I’ll be carrying over the coming months…
Find Out What Binky Keeps In Her Autumn Handbag
Marc Jacobs – Daisy Eau de Toilette
This is a gorgeous fresh and girly fragrance. It reminds me of summertime, so it gives me a real pick-me-up on grey winter days. The scent is long-lasting too, and doesn’t fade the instant you spritz it on.
Daniel Sandler – Sculpt and Slim Contour Kit
We all know how it feels to look pale and peaky on those dark winter days. Well this compact is my beauty solution to the problem. It gives your complexion an instant glow and flattering shimmer. Plus it’s fabulous for contouring your face and creating fabulous cheekbones when you’re feeling a little flat.
Nuxe Nutri-Protecting – Lip Care SPF15 in Charismatic Red
Lip balms are a winter must-have as it’s all too easy for your pout to become dry and parched in chilly weather and dehydrating central heating. This Nuxe lip gloss has a vibrant cherry-coloured tint – just the thing for adding a pop of colour to your winter face.
bareMinerals – Flawless Application Face Brush
Decent make-up brushes are a worthwhile investment if you’re serious about looking your best. Blushers and eyeshadows can come with fairly good applicators, but I’d recommend investing in a powder brush. I carry this big, fluffy brush for on-the-go touch-ups and brushing away unwanted shine.
Binky London – Nail Polish from Oil Slick range
This is one of my favourite shades from my nail range, Binky London. It’s a fabulous irridescent greeny-bluey-purple gloss and whenever I slick it on, it’s always admired. I love experimenting with attention-grabbing nail colours – they’re an easy way to try out new beauty trends and inject a bit of drama into your look.
bareMinerals – Ready Eyeshadow Duo in The Top Shelf
A nude/brown palette like this one is an absolute make-up must-have. It may just have two eye colours, but the shimmery nude and darker bronze tones can take your eyes from a subtle polished daytime look to dark and seductive nighttime glamour. It’s all about how you apply the shades. This clever little compact is my constant companion!
Guerlain – Parure Gold Compact Foundation
A powder-foundation like this one is an ideal handbag product. Rather than carrying around endless bottles, tubes and powders, this two-in-one product is all you need to keep your face looking flawless. It comes with an applicator sponge – which I use to apply the initial all-over base, but when I’m on the go, I use my powder brush for quick touch-ups. The effect is even, matte and utterly gorgeous.
Daniel Sandler – Luxury Lipstick in Impulse
Last but by no means least, my ultra-glam lipstick. Though I tend to stick to lipgloss by day, at night I love slicking on a coat of scarlet lipstick. Sexy, sensual and super-hot, my evening begins the minute I apply this luscious lip colour.
So that’s my handbag kit. I try not to lug too many products around with me every day, but each one of these is a proven winner, instantly polishing my look and giving me a much-needed beauty boost when I’m feeling washed-out and winter-worn.
Don’t forget, if there’s a make-up trend or beauty idea you’d like me to investigate for my blog, then drop me a line and I’ll do my best to help. Just think of me as your beauty fairy godmother, here to grant all your make-up wishes!
Stay beautiful, love Binky xx
