Tigi at Fashion Week

Tigi is absolutely everywhere at the moment. They’ve been featured in tonnes of magazines this fortnight, they popped up all over the London, Paris, New York and Milan Fashion Weeks, and they’re getting radio plugs from the hottest singer in the UK.
As one of our most popular brands here at Escentual, I probably don’t have to tell you how good the products are. Instead, I’m going to take a look at some of my favourite styles as created by the ridiculously talented Tigi Creative Team in the past year…
First up is the laid back Janis Joplin-esque 70s style that the team created for the Felder Felder SS11 show at London Fashion Week last year. The look is all really clean hair that is sculpted into a mass of texture, created by drenching small sections of the hair in Tigi Catwalk Your Highness Firm Hold Hairspray, rolling each section into a pin curl and then clamping it with a straightening iron. When that’s set, a Mason Pearson hairbrush was pulled through from root to tip to create a cloudy haze of hair.
My next favourite look was the super long poker straight hair seen at the Versus SS11 Show during Milan Fashion Week -ethereal and very polished. Every last trace of frizz was removed with the Tigi Catwalk Sleek Mystique Fast Fixx Style Prep, and was then dried poker straight with added extensions. Tigi Catwalk Sleek Mystique Haute Iron Spray was then spritzed all over the lengths before being flat ironed to blend natural hair with the extensions for optimum sleekness.
My last must-have look is looking forward to AW11, and it can only be the sleek sophistication of Christopher Kane’s water nymph models at London Fashion Week. Fluid, refined and completely modern, the low, slicked back pony tails were styled to look at though the girls had just come out of the water. Once hair was blow-dried into a centre parting, Catwalk Your Highness Root Boost was worked through the roots to shape it off the face. A wide comb was used to set ridge marks into the hair and make it look less uniform and even. The hair was then secured into a narrow pony tail and finished with a blast of Sleek Mystique Look Lock Hairspray.
