The Skincare Boosts Everyone Will Love
Share
Feel like your skincare regime lacks a little je ne sais quoi? Even though spring is all about brightness and freshness, chances are your skin’s still stuck back in dull, grey winter mode.
But fear not, regime-enhancing products are something of a passion project of mine. Given that my skin type could more accurately be described as ‘meh’, I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time hunting down quick fixes that make my complexion look and feel a bit more human. And I think I’ve cracked it with this merry stash.
If you’re in need of a pick-me-up, here are the skincare boosts that will enhance your routine…
1) The Fatigue-Fighter for Eyes
Nuxe Creme Prodigieuse Anti-Fatigue Moisturising Eye Cream
Great for: Energising, smoothing, hydrating, de-puffing
The skin around your eyes is the most delicate area on the face, and tends to show fatigue and signs of ageing much more quickly than anywhere else. If you’re tired of always looking, well, tired, then the Creme Prodgieuse Anti-Fatigue Moisturising Eye Cream from Nuxe is an excellent suits-all energy booster.
It’s lightweight yet nourishing, and hugs the eye area with plenty of moisture without making it feel heavy. Added benefits include a de-puffing action for smoother, tighter peepers, plus decongesting ingredients for a reduction in dark circles. Massage in every morning for the perfect start to your day.
2) The Skin Healer
La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Skin Recovery Accelerator
Great for: Cuts, scratches, dry patches, chapped skin, bites
Our skin goes through a lot, no matter the season. In winter it’s dry patches, in summer it’s bites and burns, so it really helps to have a product on hand with a raison d’etre of boosting and healing the skin. The reason I love Cicaplast so much (aside from the fact that it’s an incredibly effective healer) is its amazing texture.
Some formulas can feel uncomfortable, or can sting sore skin when they’re applied. Cicaplast has a very pliable silicone-based texture, which smooths easily over damaged skin to create a protective barrier. Add to this its complex of repairing copper and zinc plus its anti-bacterial ingredients, and you’ve got a really handy a liquid plaster that can be used anywhere on the body.
3) The Use-It-Everywhere Oil
Darphin The Revitalizing Oil
Great for: Nourishment, softness, smoothness, a healthy sheen
Forget what you’ve heard about oils being tough mistresses. Everyone can incorporate them into their routine, and The Revitalizing Oil from Darphin is an excellent one to start with! This lightweight oil is crafted from raspberry, evening primrose, sweet almond, argan and jojoba oils (to name but a few) and can be used from top to toe.
Everyone will find a use for this product, whether it’s providing protection for hair, adding a glorious sheen to bare legs, or infusing their usual moisturiser with extra nourishment. My favourite way to use it is to mix a little with foundation, which my dry skin absolutely adores. It’s such a useful product to have in your stash.
4) The Ultra-Quencher
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Power Serum
Great for: Plumping, smoothing, minimising dehydration lines, dewiness
We all experience the dull, parched woes of a dehydrated complexion from time to time. Beloved by beauty experts, the powerful Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Power Serum from Vichy will work to infuse the complexion with long-lasting moisture and comfort.
Its ultra-fluid, weightless texture is shot through with micro-encapsulated hyaluronic acid, which is delivered consistently over 48 hours to really quench the skin. The serum does a fantastic job of minimising signs of dehydration, specifically in the plumping stakes – skin looks so plush and dewy after use. Definitely one to put on the to-try list.
5) The Night Time Facial
Nuxe Nuxellence Detox
Great for: Radiance, moisture, softness, anti-ageing care
And finally, something to cocoon your skin with goodness during those all-important night time hours. Nuxellence Detox is something of a chameleon product: it suits all skin types, and boosts the effectiveness of everything else in your routine.
Its major function (and the result of many years of research) is the repair of your skin’s mitrochrondial DNA, which in turn improves your skin’s rate of renewal and detoxification. When you wake up your skin looks so clear and fresh, and the results just get better and better with time. It’s a powerful formula, and yet it feels so comfortable on the skin.
Over to you!
