LucyH‘s Review of Dior 5 Couleurs Croisette Eyeshadow Palette
I treated myself to this luxurious palette to wear on a hot holiday abroad, and the colours are simply divine. I normally favour ‘natural’ brown and nude eye shadows, so buying this shade of palette really was out of my comfort zone! However, I was really pleased to find that all these eyeshadows are sheer, buildable and very easy to wear. They are shimmery, apart from the middle blue shade, so they can be used as highlighters or blended over the top of other eyeshadows to add dimension.
The colours all complement each other, do not crease (tested in over 40 degree, sweaty heat!) and look great mixed or used alone. Fantastic for a gentle, subtle wash of colour for a fresh ‘Winter/Spring/Summer’ face, or for a pop of cute ‘pastel’ colour on the eyes. Best of all, they complement both pale and tanned complexions, which makes searching for versatile ‘holiday’, compact make-up a thing of the past 🙂
bstar‘s review of La Roche-Posay Rosaliac AR Intense Localised Anti-Redness Intensive Care 40ml
I used to have a fair complexion that has turned rosy over the years and this stuff is really helping to bring the colour down! I thought it has been working so well that I decided to try it on the thread veins on my legs, seems to be helping. Only been using it two weeks but it made a difference within a few days. I am using it with the face wash and the moisturiser alongside other face products and it really is working. Definitely worth the money and a try if you suffer from high colouring.
KookyMeow‘s review of Guerlain Rouge G Lipstick
This is hands down, the best lipstick formula I have ever used on my lips.
I am a warm olive (I wear Diorskin Nude in 040 for reference), and was looking for a signature red. After reading so many reviews, I decided on getting Garconne, and it was the perfect red.
At first it might seem sticky, but it’s really just the richness of the formula. I had less-than-prepped lips when I tried it on, but still turned out gorgeous. It doesn’t feel heavy at all, and is opaque in 1 swipe – this is considering that I have *really* pigmented lips. Not to mention it lasted me a whole day in the office without touching up.
Because the colour and formula is so rich, I swipe once and use a lipbrush to spread it.
Most of the complaints are about the tube, which is quite hefty, but I really love it as it looks really sophisticated and not flimsy at all.
Hydra‘s review of the Mason Pearson Pure Bristle Sensitive SB3 Hairbrush
I have wanted to buy one of these for years, but couldn’t justify the expense. Then I read a review by the journalist India Knight and decided to take the plunge. From the first use, my fine, thinning hair looked more groomed and smooth. Three weeks later, my hairdresser asked what I had been putting on my hair as it looked thicker and healthier. She couldn’t believe it was just brushing!
Deelight‘s review of the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Base
As part of my Christmas present my daughter had given me a small jar of this product. I had never heard of this before but it was brilliant.
I am going to be “Mother of the Bride” this month and I had no hesitation in ordering a larger jar of this cream, which when applied, makes your face more smoother and less wrinkled. Your foundation glides over to leave you looking younger and fresher! A little gem!
