Clarins Vital Light Day - Dry Skin

Empathys Review of Clarins Vital Light Day – Dry Skin

“It took me some time to muster up the courage to change my daily moisturiser. I already used a Clarins’ cream, but it is designed for a younger skin than mine. After trying a sample of Vital Light Day, I realised the day had come for me to take the plunge…

Clarins Vital Light Day (Illuminating anti-ageing comfort cream) has a denser texture than my previous cream. Initially it doesn’t spread so easily, but when I gently massage it into my skin, I find a very little goes a long way. Of course, being in my mid-fifties, I don’t expect miracles and don’t expect to suddenly look like someone in their mid twenties or thirties. As for their forties? Well, maybe! One thing is sure, my skins feels very comfortable afterwards and is smoother and softer than before. I am very happy with this and have learnt that as time passes it’s important to change our moisturiser to accommodate the changes in our skin.

My one issue with Clarins is the rather ‘over the top’ names and descriptions they give to their products. For example ‘Illuminating anti-ageing comfort cream’ is such a tongue-twister that if you had to read it out loud it might put you off trying it. Fortunately, the effectiveness of the cream is not dependent on its label.”

Etat Libre d'Orange Tilda Swinton Like This

Tirreni’s Review of Etat Libre d’Orange Tilda Swinton Like This Eau de parfum

“I tried this as part of the taster set from Etat Libre d’Orange and this was my favourite. It transports me to faraway lands where it’s Christmas every day and the world is full of gingerbread houses!

A lovely light yet deep & complex scent-starts off with a very ‘orange’ scent, reminiscent of Tilda Swinton’s hair! Then dries down to a lovely soft, sweet musky scent with cloves, cinnamon, black pepper & pumpkin. I can’t wait until it’s winter again so I can wear it. If you love gourmand scents you’ll love this.”

Crabtree & Evelyn Rosewater Body Lotion

DiscerningBuyer’s Review of Crabtree & Evelyn Rosewater Hand & Body Lotion Pump

“My sister gave me this fantastic Hand & Body Lotion produced byCrabtree & Evelyn at Christmas 2010 when I was suffering from severely chapped hands and cracks on finger tips – agony! I had tried all kinds of lotions, expensive and inexpensive, but the only product that helped and left my with lovely, smooth, gently perfumed hands and body was: Crabtree & Evelyn’s Rosewater Hand & Body Lotion. It is so easy to use as it comes in a ‘pump’ container, which gives you as little or as much as you want – a little goes a very long way!

I now use it every day and stopped using perfume as everyone I know tells me: ‘What a lovely perfume – a gentle rose – whose perfum is it?’ My response is the truth and I have no hesitation in recommending purchasing it from Escentual – by far the best supplier – both in price and delivery. It is a pleasure to be a customer!”

Tigi Bed Head Small Talks1808s Review of Tigi Bed Head Small Talk

“Small Talk does exactly what it claims to do: body, volume, and separates and controls for no frizz.

I work into damp hair and let it air dry, and my word, it’s such a time saver. I haven’t used heated tools or a blow dryer at all since I started using this nearly a year ago, as when my hair is dry I give it a little ruffle and it’s already styled. As such, my hair is in much better condition now. The smell is lovely too, like fruity sweeties 🙂

My bottle is coming to an end after, like I say, nearly a year of use and I’m about to order some more. It’s an utter bargain for the quality of product, the length of time it lasts, the amount of hassle it has saved and the compliments I get 😉

I will not be without it now! My hair style: tousled bob.”

Yves Saint Laurent Belle D'OpiumKwarnst’s Review of Belle D’Opium Eau de Parfum Spray

“Although Belle d’Opium is an oriental floral, to my nose it is definitely more spicy and peppery than floral. I can detect lily and gardenia, but only slightly and well hidden by lots of pepper.

Pepper is the most present note on my skin for hours. After that time the scent becomes softer, warmer and more feminine. The drydown contains patchouli, sandelwood and soft, slightly sweet incense. I find some resemblance with Opium in the drydown, softer and toned down, but recognizable.

I think this is a lovely fragrance for autumn and winter. It was my favorite last winter, I used it very frequent, and now that my bottle is almost empty, I am even considering a re-buy!

Great sillage and lastingpower on my skin! Beautiful bottle and box!”
