Pretty Pennies Hauls: Beauty Blogger Makeup Maestro New Beauty Wishlist

We’re snooping inside your favourite beauty lover’s shopping bags in our Pretty Pennies Hauls! Each month, we’re challenging makeup artists, dermatologists and content creators to spend their Pretty Pennies, and we’re sharing their beauty buys and bargains with you…

Lauren Sayles is the beauty lover behind The Makeup Maestro. By day Lauren works in an estate agents, but by night she can be found sharing her favourite makeup, skincare, and fragrance finds with her thousands of followers. Lauren has a beauty stash to be envious of, and in this edit, we’re discovering her newest buys…

The Challenge

We asked Lauren to spend her 10,000 Pretty Pennies (£100) on the just-in beauty products she’s been eyeing up.

1. A Mega Volume Mascara

YSL Lash Clash Mascara

New Beauty Wishlist; YSL Lash Clash Mascara
Lauren says: I am an absolute mascara fiend. I try so many, always on the hunt for ‘the one’, and this one does not disappoint! Volumised, full and fluffy looking lashes in just one coat. And the packaging just screams luxury too.

Ceryn, Escentual says: I’m not surprised Lauren chose this; Lash Clash volumises lashes by 200%! When it comes to mascaras on the market, this is a head-turner, and you’ll struggle to find a mascara as buildable as this one that doesn’t clump or give a spidery result.

2. A Lip-Plumping Gloss-Serum

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Serum

New Beauty Wishlist; Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Serum

Lauren says: As a huge Dior fan, their lip products are amongst some of my all-time favourites, especially their Lip Glows & Lip Oils. This was a dream to apply; it’s really creamy and instantly hydrating. I love that it’s clear as it makes it ideal for wearing underneath lipsticks.

Ceryn, Escentual says: No makeup bag should be without this! Not only does it hydrate with added hyaluronic acid, but it boosts the volume of your lips – it’s the ideal lip prep step.

3. A Fig-Infused Spring Scent

YSL Black Opium Illicit Green Eau de Parfum

New beauyt wishlist; Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium Illicit Green Eau de Parfum Spray

Lauren says: The original Black Opium perfume has featured in my fragrance collection a few times, so when I saw they had released this new version, I jumped straight on it; anything with fig in the notes will always have my attention. It’s a juicy and fresh scent, uplifting and absolutely spot-on for spring!

Ceryn, Escentual says: Black Opium first launched in 2014 and fast become a best-seller. Since then, many flankers have been, including the latest – Illicit Green. As Lauren has suggested, it’ll be a welcome seasonal addition for existing fans. Anyone who adores zesty scents should give this a try – its coffee kick will be an interesting addition to your fragrance collection.
