Nuxe Insta-Masque Face Mask Review
Share
In a recent Twitter poll, I asked Escentual followers what they look for in a face mask. 8% said they want natural ingredients, 19% want something quick, while 35% want instant results. But what about the remaining 38%? Well, they want it all! But this is where I can swoop in and deliver some good news; there’s no need to compromise; not if Nuxe, or I have anything to do with it. The Insta-Masque collection is setting new standards for weekly skin pick-me-ups, and this is why…
What’s so special about the Nuxe Insta-Masque range is their simplicity. I’m not talking about the instagrammable packaging; it’s the formula, and how to use it. The ingredient list only contains what’s necessary, of which most are natural origin. Each mask is centred around two main active ingredients to deliver two beauty benefits to the skin, plus each mask is designed to be used for 2-minutes only.
Insta-Masques are the face masks of the future; they offer visible results and a pampering experience, in no time at all – because who gets me-time, anymore?
Why Should I Choose An Insta Masque?
✔️Between 68.6% and 98.6% natural origin ingredients.
✔️ 2 minutes to better skin.
✔️ 2 hero active ingredients.
✔️ Suitable for all skin types.
How do I choose the right Insta-Masque for me?
Picking the right Nuxe face mask for your skin is easy; all the masks contain concentrated active ingredients that help with a specific issue. All you need to do is think about the result you want and pick the best match. For example, if your skin is looking shiny, or your pores are dilated, the purifying mask will be your best friend. All the face masks are suitable for men, women, and all skin types too.
• Choose Purifying & Smoothing to mattify and tighten pores.
• Choose Detoxifying & Glow to target impurities and dullness.
• Choose Exfoliating & Unifying to improve radiance and skin texture.
Can I multi-mask with the Insta-Masques?
Yes, and it’s recommended. Different areas of the face require different types of care. Take me as an example; I have an oily t-zone, but my cheeks are looking a little lacklustre right now. The solution for me would be using the purifying mask in the centre, then popping the exfoliating mask on the cheeks. Mix and match all 3 to find a format that’s best for your skin concerns.

The Clay Face Mask
Nuxe Insta-Masque Purifying and Smoothing Mask
Best for: Mattifying and tightening pores.
Active ingredients: Rose floral water and white clay (kaolin).
Texture: Light cream.
Naturality: 68.6% natural origin ingredients.
If oiliness and enlarged pores are your biggest skin concern, this is the Nuxe face mask for you. Unlike many other clay masks, the Purifying and Smoothing Mask purifies the complexion without any tingling or over-drying. A genius pairing of white clay (kaolin) and rose floral water are to thank for this. The skin gets all the unclogging and mattifying benefits of clay, plus the softening effect of rose water.
This mask feels and smells fantastic too. When you apply it to dry skin, it goes on like a light, white cream. It doesn’t dry hard like many other clay masks because it doesn’t get the time. Like all the masks in this range, you only need to keep it on for 2-minutes, then rinse it off with water. The result is a complexion that feels cleansed and smooth.
The Exfoliating Face Mask
Nuxe Insta-Masque Exfoliating and Unifying Mask
Best for: Dullness and uneven skin tone/texture.
Active ingredients: Rose floral water and macadamia oil.
Texture: Gel to oil (with micro-grains).
Naturality: 98.3% natural origin ingredients.
It doesn’t matter what your skin type is; you should own the Exfoliating and Unifying Mask. The mask focuses on improving radiance and irregular texture; concerns that affect a lot of people due to pollution, bad diet and a busy lifestyle. Another reason is that as we age, our skin’s renewal process slows down. When this happens, there becomes a build-up of dead skin cells, and our complexion can start to look tired. An exfoliating mask is a perfect (and pampering) remedy for this.
100% natural micro-grains of silica are what give this mask a scrub-like effect without an abrasive feeling. The gentle gel-to-oil formula, soothing macadamia oil and rose floral water all act as a safety blanket, protecting sensitive skin. So skin receives all the exfoliating with none of the irritation.
What’s different about this mask, aside from its Turkish delight-like aroma, is how you remove it. Just like the others, you rinse it off after two minutes, but with this one instead of just rinsing it away, work it into your skin; it’ll leave you glowing!
The Charcoal Face Mask
Nuxe Insta-Masque Detoxifying and Glow Mask
Best for: Impurities and dullness.
Active ingredients: Rose floral water and botanical charcoal.
Texture: Gel to lotion.
Naturality: 96.2% natural origin ingredients.
Do you need to hit reset on your skin? If so, you need the Detoxifying and Glow Mask. It could be blemishes, blackheads or pollution causing your skin to feel congested, but this mask has the answer, without any of the irritation. Active charcoal has been paired with rose floral water to reduce sensitivity, and the usual peel off mechanic has been swapped to a gel. Both of these updates make for a charcoal face mask that reboots the skin in the kindest way possible.
Of all the masks in this line-up, this was by far my favourite. Firstly, because I love the wow factor of an intense black mask, and secondly because it left my skin feeling so clean, despite only taking 2 minutes. The gel texture instantly transforms into a light lotion when you get it wet, rinsing the dirt away with it.
