Our June Beauty Favourites

Our June Beauty Favourites

We’ve been shopping! But can you blame us? The What’s New section is bursting with incredible launches. From GIVENCHY’s brand new Ressource skincare to a makeup sponge innovation, we’ve made a few sneaky purchases, and we don’t regret it one bit! Here are the new releases we added straight to our baskets…

#1 The Collagen-Boosting Moisturiser

Team Favourites: DHC Super Collagen CreamSince falling in love with DHC as a skincare brand and choosing the new Olive Virgin Oil Essential Cream for March favourites, I knew this new Super Collagen addition would also be a part of my skincare routine. I have been using this moisturiser for just over two weeks, and I have noticed my skin looks more vibrant and feels well hydrated. The ingredients in this cream automatically draw you in from citric acid that provides a brighter looking complexion to glycogen that protects the skin from environmental damage that accelerates signs of ageing. I do believe that it’s never too early to start using anti-ageing products, and this DHC cream is the perfect product to begin with.

#2 The Skincare for Stressed Skin

Team Favourites: Givenchy Ressource Fortifying Moisturising Concentrate

My skin has got clearer, and more even during lockdown, but the GIVENCHY Ressource collection is what’s really given it its bounce and glow back. Using the products as a routine with the new facial workout techniques I learnt from their brand trainer, Lisa, has made sure I’ll be facing normality with the best skin I’ve ever had.

What my skin loves most is the naturality of this formula (97% natural origin) – there are no nasties. It’s made for really thirsty skin types, as it quenches dehydrated and dull skin, which my complexion drinks up, but never feels tight only cushiony and glowy.

#3 The Nourishing Tan Enhancer
Team Favourites: Caudalie Tan Prolonging After-Sun Lotion

I love being able to build a gradual tan in the summer – and I’ve certainly been making the most of the weather we’ve had recently. My only regret is that my tan doesn’t last as long as I’d like.

That’s why Caudalie’s Tan Prolonging After-Sun Lotion has caught my attention this month. And, if there’s one thing I love as much as being able to tan in the summer, it’s multitasking products. Not only does Caudalie’s velvety lotion help prolong your tan for up to two weeks but it’s also enriched with several soothing and nourishing ingredients to keep skin hydrated after a day in the sun.

Plus, I love the fact that this lotion can be used on both the face and body, so you don’t need to use different formulas to build a glowing, long-lasting tan from head to toe.

#4 The Low Maintenance Base

Team Favourites: Decleor Neroli Bigarade BB Cream SPF15

For hot summer days when a full face of makeup seems out of the question, I turn to the Decleor Neroli Bigarade BB Cream SPF 15. Glowy base, primer turned tinted SPF; the BB Cream is one of the most versatile products in my makeup arsenal. On bare skin or mixed with my foundation, this formula can be adapted to how I’m feeling that day, which is all you can ask for from a good base! The only way is up; mineral-based (tick), 24 hours hydration and natural essential oil mean that my skin looks good when it comes off as well as when I’m wearing it, which to me is just as important! A little confidence boost; the natural coverage finish makes my skin look flawless and has even pushed me to embrace my complexion on no makeup days.

#5 The Next-Generation Mixing Sponge

Team Favourites: Real Techniques Miracle Mixing Sponge

As soon as I saw this Miracle Mixing Sponge from Real Techniques, I knew it would be a firm favourite of mine. Already a fan of the original Miracle Complexion Sponge and the great coverage they achieve, I was excited to see the difference the silicone edge would make.

Suffering from dry skin, I always have to apply several liquids to quench my skin which is time-consuming. Providing a smooth surface for liquids such as BB cream and foundation, the application was quick and easy using the silicon edge. Using less product to achieve that flawless look, my skin also felt dewy and refreshed after. I also found the sponge cooling on my skin which helped reduce the redness I often get from the initial application—a new favourite for this month but a welcomed addition to my dressing table for good.

#6 The Fail-Safe Summer Lipstick

Team Favourites: Shiseido ColorGel LipBalm in Bamboo

Well, it seems that my love affair with Shiseido is never-ending, doesn’t it? Last month it was concealer, and this month it’s the ColorGel LipBalm that’s got all my attention! Well, actually that’s a bit of a fib because I’m also very keen on the new Shimmer GelGloss and the LipLiner InkDuo in 02 Beige. Anyway, I digress, I’m only allowed to pick one favourite – so it has to be the new Shiseido Lip Balms, specifically in the shade 111 bamboo – a gorgeous peachy nude (although I’m eyeing up other shades as I write this!).

What I love about this lipstick-balm hybrid is the fact that it adds a hint of sheer colour with just a little shine. It makes lips look plump and juicy without being overloaded with product which makes them the perfect summer lipstick in my opinion! Now, to stop myself from buying all of them!

#7 The Easy on the Eyes Makeup Remover

Team Favourites: Klorane Cornflower Waterpoof Eye Makeup Remover

My eyes are incredibly sensitive. I have hay fever and sometimes wear contacts, so by the end of the day, the last thing I want to do is aggravate them more when I take off my makeup. That’s where the Klorane Cornflower Eye Makeup Remover comes in. The soothing formula is so gentle and refreshing; it doesn’t sting and effortlessly lifts makeup from the eyes without the need to rub. The delicate skin around my eyes feels comforted, and the nourishing bi-phase purple liquid doesn’t leave any oily residue, just a decongested and fresh eye contour. Even waterproof and stubborn mascara is dissolved away, and with each use, my lashes feel strengthened and conditioned. It’s a must-have for anyone who struggles with sensitivity and reactions around the eyes like me; no more stinging or burning just soothed and refreshed bright eyes!
