July Beauty Team Favourites
Share
You could assume that talking beauty 24/7 could get boring, but, not for the Escentual Beauty Team! We truly get excited about makeup, skincare, fragrance and everything in between and get even more excited at the thought of sharing our favourites with you! Because, there’s nothing better than a good recommendation is there?
We’ve trawled through the newness and raided our cupboards for old classics, in the hope of finding you the beauty gem you’ve been looking for! Whether it’s Ceryn’s trustee complexion perfector, Emma’s new skin-soother or Chelsey’s summer scent, we have a feeling our favourites may become yours too!
Ceryn
Can anyone else believe it’s July already? Summer is flying by! But, despite the weeks passing me by so quickly I’ve still found time to discover and re-discover some beauty favourites! This month, I have unknowingly found myself sticking to what I love, but with a slight twist…

Elizabeth Arden Skin Illuminating Retexurizing Pads
If you’re an avid reader of the Escentual Beauty Buzz blog then you’ll know I’m all about exfoliating. However, until very recently I hadn’t dabbled in exfoliating pads – it’s safe to say I am now addicted. The Elizabeth Arden Skin Illuminating Retexturising Pads are so quick and easy (unlike their name). Designed to exfoliate the top layers of skin and reveal a brighter, more toned complexion these handy pads have kept my skin looking tip-top and with my house renovations in full swing, I’ve needed it!
Shiseido Ever Bloom Eau de Toilette
I’m a huge fan of the original Shiseido Ever Bloom, so when the new Eau de Toilette landed on my desk I was more than excited to give it a whiff. I’m always apprehensive when trying a lighter concentration of a fragrance I love, why change something that works? But, I’m happy to say that Ever Bloom Eau de Toilette gets a big thumb up from me! In my opinion it’s an entirely different vibe to the Eau de Parfum, whereas the original glistens with sparkling seduction, the Eau de Toilette shimmers with elegance – it’s a scent I could see myself wearing everyday.
… and a Rediscovered Classic
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge
I recently rediscovered my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and I can honestly say I don’t know why I stopped using it. I now use it to apply my foundation, concealer and to set my under – I seriously can’t get enough of it! My favourite tip for using to set under the eyes is; dampen your beauty blender under water slightly before pressing it into the powder, it’ll stop the sponge absorbing the powder. After leaving the powder to set for a few minutes, just dust away and you’re left with a crease-free, flawless finish.
Emma
This is a huge month for new in terms of new skincare discoveries. After falling for Vichy’s Quenching Mineral Mask in June after a long skincare drought, I’ve expanded my collection even further this month with not one, not two, but three new additions. Phew. It’s a bit of a glowing skin love-in…

Darphin L’Institut Facial Sonic Cleansing and Massaging
What an innovation. Darphin L’Institut Facial is an incredible cleansing brush/massaging device hybrid that will completely transform the way that you approach your skincare regime. Not content with simply reinventing the idea of a cleansing brush (with soft, antibacterial bristles and a gentler rotation pattern), Darphin have also created a new way to apply your serum and moisturiser. The massaging head in particular is rather special, providing a deep tissue massage whilst improving oxygenation and microcirculation. It’s like having an at-home facialist on call at all times. Read more about the device here – it’s 1/3rd off at the moment!
Avene Tolerance Extreme Mask
After many, many years of experimenting with exfoliating toners, peels, multiple cleansers and acidic moisturisers, I’ve learned the hard way that my skin just doesn’t respond well to a complicated routine. Right now it just wants moisture, pure and simple, and the Avene Tolerance Extreme Mask delivers this beautifully. This mask is really special in that it’s only made with 7 ingredients, all killer no filler. It’s able to skip unnecessary preservatives thanks to its innovative DEFI cap (you can find out more about the wider Tolerance Extreme range here). If you have reactive skin, you NEED this range.
… and a Rediscovered Classic (sort of!)
Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Oil Spray Paris Edition
I say ‘sort of’, because while Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse is an absolute classic, it’s the new Paris Edition that I’ve fallen for. This fresh, limited edition bottle is in honour of Nuxe’s 25th birthday, embellished with a Parisian cityscape in an homage to its roots. The iconic oil within remains just the same, offering a sumptuous, dry touch formula that’s perfect for the face, the hair and the body. Oh, and then there’s that incredible summer-in-a-bottle scent. Bliss. Read more about the Paris Edition here.
Chelsey
Time is flying. All of the new fragrances are beginning to launch and yes, I’m excited! HQ has been bursting with beauty newness this July, but, piquing my interest this month is a trio of mood-enhancing beauty that I haven’t been able to put down. I’m talking about a confidence boosting cover-up, sleep easy bath oil and the most talked about scent launch of the month. Join me?

Stella McCartney POP Eau de Parfum
Not my usual signature style. But, wait; it was love at first spritz with this one. So good it’ll make you close your eyes and say oh-ah! This sensuous scent is enticing in every which way. Sprinkled with a sparkling blend of white florals, POP makes me fully believe that I’m dressed from head to toe in peach sequins every time I wear it (I wouldn’t want it other way). La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo <+> Unifiant
For those of you follow my skin care posts, you’ll know that I have a strong soft spot for La Roche-Posay products, particularly their sought-after Anti-blemish Kit. Here, I discovered my love affair with Effaclar Duo (+). To my delight, last week we welcomed the Effaclar Duo <+> Unifiant arrival on site. Let’s talk of it like a lightweight BB cream. It’s a lighter, sheerer coverage than I usually go for. But, it’s perfect for those low maintenance days where I just want to look like I’m actually awake. Extra brownie points for La Roche-Posay!

Tisserand Sweet Dreams Bath Oil
If you find it hard to switch off, add two table spoons of this into your bath and just relax! Aromatherapy oils are my thing. After studying massage in my earlier collage days, I’ve always been infatuated with their super-natural powers. Swirling and swishing this comforting oil into my bath is mostly the highlight of my week. (I promise I’m exciting in real life). Partial to an early night, the Sweet Dreams bath oil keeps my senses at bay after a busy day in HQ and quite frankly, I love it.
Over to you!
