Guerlain Rouge G Summer 2014 Swatches

Lovers of couture lipstick, rejoice; the iconic Guerlain Rouge G lipstick has been updated for the new season! The capsule collection of five brand new shades take you from the brightness of summer through to the cooler autumn months, offering an entire wardrobe of on-trend hues suitable for both daytime and evening wear.
Rouge G is the jewel in the crown of the already immensely luxurious Guerlain lipstick trilogy, which also features Rouge Automatique and the soon-to-be relaunched KissKiss. Created with wild mango butter for immense softness, the melting texture offers comfort and lasting hold in a single swipe. My favourite thing about the formula, though, is its completely decadent infusion of ruby powder, which ensures some spectacular colour pay off.
I’m sure everyone will agree that the calling card of Rouge G is its breathtaking packaging, above. The sleek lines of the heavyweight metallic casing open up via spring action to reveal a double mirror tucked away inside the lid, like something out of a James Bond film. The finishing touches make the lipstick even more beautiful, with a monogrammed clasp that holds the mirror shut and the Guerlain logo embossed on the shiny outer casing.
The five new shades really do offer something for everyone, whether their usual look is understated or bold. From left, we have: 15 Galiane, nude beige; 16 Gaetane, deep brown; 48 Geneva, coral orange; 77 Geraldine, rich pink; and 78 Gladys, deep fuchsia.
Apart from the very bold fuchsia of 78 Gladys, each shade offers medium coverage with a satin finish, which allows you to play the shade up or down. The texture of Rouge G suits this finish well, offering a tactile veil of colour that still feels so deeply nourishing. Predictably, my favourite shade is 48 Geneva; a cool-as-you-like blood orange/coral shade. As soon as I was introduced to the collection, my coral-loving senses started tingling!
Discussion time!
So, which of the five new shades is your favourite?
