Dry shampoo is an opinion divider.
When it comes to that sprayable dry powder, it seems that people either cannot live without it, or are daunted by the prospect of using it in fear of a dusty hair disaster. Whichever camp you’re in, it’s time to change the way you approach dry shampoo; because according to Klorane, it’s the new hairspray.
The versatility of dry shampoo is a little-known fact. Traditionally used as a hair refresher, there have been a whole range of other uses discovered for the powder, from volume-boosting to style setting. The dryness of its formulation creates texture in hair, making it extremely receptive to styling. We’ve even been known to rub in some dry shampoo to our freshly washed hair for an easy to achieve ‘second-day-hair’ look.
The Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk, £7.05 is the Rolls Royce of dry shampoos, with fans including Kate Moss, Chloё Sevigny and Kirsten Dunst. As with all Klorane products, it is based upon a plant that is chosen for its traditional caring properties, which in this case is botanical oat milk. Oat milk is extremely gentle to hair, preventing it from drying out and hydrating the hair shaft. It also creates a finer powder that is more easily brushed from the hair, preventing a dreaded white root situation.
