Trend-wise, it’s all about the glow right now, with pretty much all major skincare brands launching serums or creams to fade pigmentation/tackle dullness/make skin more translucent and luminous. The great thing is that results are often visible within weeks, or even instantly if there are brightening and soft-focus optics and pigments involved. Satisfaction really is guaranteed, for once!

Here are some of the mainstays in my beauty arsenal:

Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil, £13.23
I add a few drops to my night cream. It seems to hydrate and cosset skin like nothing else, and it builds its lipid layer to protect against the elements.

Daniel Sandler Watercolour Crème Bronzer, £17.50
I prefer cream formulas over powder as they melt into skin. This shade is not at all orange and the little pot SO much more portable than a chunky powder compact!

Fekkai Essential Shea Shampoo and Conditioner
Very hydrating and nourishing. but still weightless, even if you have fine hair. And you need only a tiny amount.

La Roche Posay Lipikar Baume AP, £11.50
Can repair the driest, most cracked body skin is days. Amazing.

Dior Diorshow Extase Mascara, £21.00
Gives superfat lashes, but is buildable and brushes through so won’t go on in great big clumps. And doesn’t smudge.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Honey Lip Balm, £9.60
Best lip balm by far. Stays on forever, and would protect lips from an arctic blizzard. And it smells subtle and delicious.
