DIOR Splendor Christmas Look

DIOR Splendor

Ceryn Signature

Deep breaths everyone, the DIOR Splendor Christmas collection is here, and without stating the glaringly obvious it is utterly breathtaking.

Inspired by sequins, sparkles and couture fabrics, the Splendor Christmas collection exudes such a luxury that I felt incredibly chic just holding them in my hand, so as you can imagine, wearing them I felt like a brand new woman. Created by Peter Phillips, the Creative and Image Director for DIOR Makeup, Splendor pays tribute to the House of Dior’s couture spirit, taking inspiration from the extraordinary to create a makeup collection that highlights both the beauty and happiness of women.

The limited edition range includes a quintet of Diorific Lipsticks and new for this season Matte Fluids, two precious harmonies of the magnificent 5 Couleurs Splendor Palette, a sequin embossed golden highlighter, shimmery apricot blush and five statement nail colours.

It’s safe to say that DIOR has thought of everything this year, with something for everyone, whatever their beauty weakness. But, if you’re not sure where to start, here’s a few of our favourites…

Eyes

For Christmas 2016, the 5 Couleurs Splendor Palette is available in two colourways; 776 Precious Embroidery, which has a black-silver theme, and 066 Smoky Sequins, which includes more mauve-toned shadows. Imprinted with a sequin motif (inspired by the work of the Haute Couture ateliers), the palettes are impeccably detailed, with each of the five shadows designed to work beautifully with one and other.

My favourite of the two (a tough choice, trust me) is 776 Precious Embroidery. The palette’s harmony of violet, mauve and chocolate shadows is as beautiful in the palette as it is on the eyes. A subtle way of wearing colour, this palette has everything covered; a glistening violet for all-over the lid, pearlescent white to highlight the brow and inner corner, two rich chocolate shades to add intensity on the outer corners and lower lash-line and a gorgeous gold to add to the centre of the lid.

Unlike any other palette in my makeup collection, the 5 Couleurs Splendor Palette, in both colourways, offers intense pigment, workable textures and of course, a luxurious experience, that I myself will save for the days and nights I want to feel that extra bit special.

Lips

As they’re new for this season I couldn’t not include a Diorific Matte Fluid Lip & Cheek Velvet Colour in my favourites.

The limited edition lip and cheek colours are a pleasure to wear, dressing the lips in comfortable, matte colour and leaving cheeks with a healthy and natural tint. My colour pick is 001 Pleasure, a soft rosy pink that makes the perfect everyday shade. A favourite of mine for a multitude of reasons, the Diorific Matte Fluid Lip & Cheek Velvet Colours are easy to wear and easy to apply – a ultra luxurious makeup piece that’s actually very practical!

Nails

Every year I find myself swooning over the Diorific Vernis Nail Enamels, and this year it’s no different. And, with four glistening shades to choose from, picking just one favourite was impossible, so I opted for two instead (can you blame me?)

The limited edition long-wearing nail colours are inspired by sequins, so each has an iridescent shimmer that catches the light. One of my favourites is 899 Cosmic, a purple-black that has silver specks running throughout – it’s an excellent autumnal nail colour.
And, my extra pick is 001 Nova, a glimmering top coat that gives a ‘broken mirror’ effect, which can be worn alone of over one of the richly pigmented nail colours. A truly precious makeup piece, 001 Nova is the item I think everyone should own from this incredible collection, it’s timeless.

Over to you!
