Roll up, roll up, lip colour mavens – I have the low down on a brand new launch from Dior that’ll send your hearts into overdrive!

The Dior Addict Fluid Stick is a brand new innovation that fits the description of so many lip products, and yet doesn’t belong to any one category. With the colour payoff and long wear of a liquid lipstick, the glossy shine of a lipgloss, and the moisturising, barely-there feeling of a balm, it can only be described as a spectacular hybrid.

Dior Addict Fluid Sticks

The secret of its unusual texture is in the complete absence of wax, which is instead replaced by an infusion of water. This change-up is felt in the application process; the fluid glides on with a lot of slip and absolutely no stickiness whatsoever. When the water evaporates from the lips, you’re left with rich pigment and a subtle, juicy sheen. With 16 gorgeous high fashion shades ranging from pale nude through to the deepest plum, and everything from baby pink to coral in between, there’s something for everyone.

The packaging of the Addict Fluid Stick is as luxurious as you’d expect from Dior, with a cheeky Addict twist. The tube has the mechanism of a gloss complete with specially designed hi-definition applicator, but has a trompe-l’œil effect that makes it appear as though it’s a lipstick bullet that is contained within. It’s a really special product, and I’m so excited to share the swatches with you today!

The Swatches

Dior Addict Fluid Stick - 219 Whisper Beige - 239 Frisson - 338 Mirage - 373 Rieuse Sticks

Dior Addict Fluid Stick - 219 Whisper Beige - 239 Frisson - 338 Mirage - 373 Rieuse

219 Whisper Beige (nude beige) | 239 Frisson (milky peach) | 338 Mirage (pink nude) | 373 Rieuse (warm coral pink)

Each of these shades are perfect for daytime wear, offering completely different takes on the everyday lip to suit lots of different tones and preferences. Even the paler shades offer a bold pop of colour with great coverage, though they can be sheered out for a balmier hue. My favourite is 373 Rieuse, a delectable pink. You know those lip colours that instantly make you look more awake even when you’re wearing no other make-up? That’s Rieuse.

Dior Addict Fluid Stick - 389 Kiss Me - 479 Magique - 551 Aventure - 575 Wonderland SticksDior Addict Fluid Stick - 389 Kiss Me - 479 Magique - 551 Aventure - 575 Wonderland

389 Kiss Me (cool baby pink) | 479 Magique (vivid mid pink) | 551 Aventure (electric coral red) | 575 Wonderland (hot pink)

Next up are the brights – and boy, are they bright. The texture of the Addict Fluid Stick makes them so wearable, though, as the sheen is more juicy than glossy. Each of the shades are stand outs here, but I have a soft spot for 551 Aventure, which will look phenomenal with a tan this summer.

Dior Addict Fluid Stick - 619 Beige Lie - 639 Artifice - 753 Open Me - 754 Pandore SticksDior Addict Fluid Stick - 619 Beige Lie - 639 Artifice - 753 Open Me - 754 Pandore

619 Beige Lie (chocolate) | 639 Artifice (tangerine) | 753 Open Me (red with orange tones) | 754 Pandore (bold red)

The palette gets richer as we get into the higher numbers, with a beautiful bronzed brown, an all-out tangerine and the shade that Dior does best of all: two gorgeous, classic reds. I love 754 Pandore with its punchy pink undertones – when sheered out, it’s the perfect ‘bitten’ red.

Dior Addict Fluid Stick - 869 Vie d'Enfer - 872 Mona Lisette - 975 Minuit - 995 Intrigue SticksDior Addict Fluid Stick - 869 Vie d'Enfer - 872 Mona Lisette - 975 Minuit - 995 Intrigue

869 Vie d’Enfer (deep red) | 872 Mona Lisette (deep pink-red) | 975 Minuit (blackened wine red) | 995 Intrigue (plum)

And finally, we have some drama. Two more reds brings us up to four in all, so you should be able to find your ideal red no matter your tone. A deep Bordeaux wine shade ups the vampiness, and a wild card plum rounds out the diverse collection nicely. My pick for an instant evening update is 975 Minuit (which aptly translates as Midnight), which is dark enough to create serious impact, but red enough to stop the colour wearing you… rather than the other way around.
