Daniel Sandler Watercolour Creme Rouge Blusher Swatches and Pictures
Of all of the various make-up bits I’ve accrued over the years, there’s nothing I love more than a bit of smooth-on-and-go cream blusher.
So when Daniel Sandler Crème Rouge arrived the other day, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them. Here’s what they say:
The Daniel Sandler Watercolour Crème Rouge blusher gives you a beautiful flush in seconds with its ultra-blendable texture and long-lasting, professional finish.
The satiny, creamy texture is not greasy in the slightest, and melts onto skin with ease. It blends beautifully over naked skin just as well as it does on top of a base, leaving a hint of flattering, natural-looking colour. The gorgeous diffused effect and the perky colourways of the Watercolour Crème Rouge blusher infuse the complexion with a youthful flush that knocks years off.
And here’s what I made of them…
The texture of these blushes is unreal. Not too ‘melty’ but likewise not so hard that you can’t pick up any product. With one swipe you can easily colour and contour one cheek with a sheer flush that still packs a pigment punch. Sometimes brands overcompensate with creamy formulations, and the end product ends up being pretty greasy with too much slip. There’s no chance of that with the Watercolour Creme Rouge, which is more like a cream-to-powder. It remains ultra-blendable up until it dries, after which it becomes a lot more matte and satiny.
The colours that we have at Escentual are Soft Rose, a warm rosewood pink, and Soft Peach, a playful pink-orange.
Its incredible how the hues adapt to the skin once blended! The deep warmth of Soft Pink becomes a lot more delicate and rosy on the skin, making for the perfect flushed colour. The bright pink colour of Soft Peach mellows out considerably into an incredible coral hue with a touch of peachiness. You can see in the second picture how sheer yet pigmented the blushes are – just take a look at my hand freckle peeking through the wash of Soft Peach. It doesn’t cover up your true skin tone, and looks incredibly natural. In fact, I’d even recommend that you could use this without a base to give skin a bit of energy without looking ‘done’.
There is the most subtle pearlescence to Soft Pink that is barely detectable in the pan, but makes the colour look 3 dimensional and dewy on the cheeks. Soft Peach is a tad more glimmery, and contains extremely finely milled shimmer to give the bright hue a softer edge. Neither of the shades are by any means glittery, and are extremely wearable.
Overall, I thoroughly recommend these blushes – they’re especially good for the summer when you want a versatility and a gorgeous natural flush rather than sculpting and contouring. The colours are spot on, too – I’d tentatively recommend Soft Pink for warmer tones, and Soft Peach for cooler tones, but once blended I could see these shades suiting pretty much everyone!
