Clarins Ombre Matte Cream-to-Powder Eyeshadow

Re-Branded Signature (Emma) copyClarins Ombre Matte is a celebration of autumn. Resplendent in velvety tones of nude, beige and brown, each pot of cream-to-powder eyeshadow reveals the soft shades of the season. It’s a veritable gold mine of hues with which to create a perfectly discreet smoky eye.

Ombre Matte has an innovative creamy texture that is a little looser and more traditionally powder-like than its direct comparisons, ensuring an ultra-fine, buttery application. Though each shade is completely matte thanks to a rich infusion of bamboo powder, Ombre Matte contains a blend of soft focus pigments that lend flattering radiance to the eye area, making the often-tricky matte texture wearable for all. The bamboo also ensures exceptional, all-day hold that retains a sensorial feel, making for truly comfortable wear.

The little pots of colour are exceptionally versatile. Lightweight and slim, they’re ideal for slipping into your makeup bag, and can be applied with a brush or finger tips. I actually prefer the latter, as the colour melts onto skin beautifully from the heat of your fingers, and gives amazing colour pay off. The finishing touch to the little pots is Clarins’s signature gold lid, finished with a tiny ‘C’ monogram. Chic!

To make the most of your Ombre Matte Eyeshadow, Clarins has created the Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base, an opaque, flesh-coloured primer. The fluid has quite a rich texture akin to concealer, so you need the tiniest amount to cover the entire lid. The hold and intensity of your eyeshadow is amazing when applied on top of the Eye Perfecting Base. I easily get about 9-10 hours wear from the eye colour, and find I use a lot less colour to make an impact.
