Chocolate Beauty

Easter is nearly upon us – and for chocoholics, that heralds a weekend working steadily through a cocoa haul… For those of us not so capable of consuming large doses of the sweet stuff (and I count myself in that disappointing group) and those watching their waistline, however, there’s no need to miss out – as there’s a host of chocolate-scented and coloured beauty products to bring a smile to everybody’s face this Easter. Here’s my pick of the best chocolate beauty!
Clarins Delicious Self Tanning Cream, £16.33
Fake tan has featured in my spring and summer beauty regime for years – but I can’t pretend I’ve always enjoyed the chore of applying it… When I discovered Clarins Delicious Self Tanning Cream, however, things changed. The delicious, rich, buttery cream smells exactly like chocolate. The caramel tint makes it easy to apply evenly – and the result is impressively streak-free. I’d be thrilled to receive this pot on Easter Sunday!
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, £22
Now is the perfect time to warm up our complexions for the season ahead – and what better way to do it, than with a bronzing compact containing real cocoa powder? It might sound too good to be true, but this flattering powder delivers rich, natural-looking colour, coupled with a sweet, chocolate scent. The bronzing pigments give a matte result, promising to neutralise red and even out the complexion. What’s not to like? I’m stocking up.
Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Treatment, £10.48
Cocoa beans are highly moisturising, which makes them the perfect ingredient for this hair treatment masque. If hair is looking lacklustre and damaged, it’s time to grab the tube. It feels rich and indulgent – and better still, leaves hair with impressive shine and boosted manageability and strength. Who ever knew that cocoa beans harnessed such power?!
Thierry Mugler Angel Eau de Parfum Spray, from £22.50
I’m a big fan of Thierry Mugler’s Angel, which contains good-enough-to-eat base notes of dark chocolate, vanilla and caramel. The fragrance was launched in 1992 and was groundbreaking at the time – it was the first fragrance to leave out floral notes in favour of sweeter confectionary notes like chocolate. It’s unique, addictive, and very wearable. It features on my dressing table and I’ll definitely be wearing it over the Easter weekend!
Guerlain Terracotta Soothing Lip Balm in Cocoa Love, £19.50
I defy you not to lick lips when smothered in this cocoa-coloured lip balm by Guerlain! It might not smell like or contain real chocolate – but the glossy colour is spot-on, which will please die-hard chocoholics. The formula contains wild mango butter (to moisturise and repair), luffa oil (to restore lipidic balance) and marula oil (to protect and nourish). Get ready to pout!!
