Bronzing with Rosie Fortescue

If there’s one product that can instantly make you look healthy and glowing in seconds, it’s bronzer. I absolutely love using and experimenting with different bronzers, but I know that a lot of people can be intimidated by them. In this look we went for a really illuminated and glowing look and also talk technique so hopefully I can demystify bronzer!
I have lots of bronzers that I have to recommend to you – my personal favourite bronzers are from Clarins because they are never too orange and I always find them so flattering on my skin. Other brands that have lovely bronzers are Guerlain Terracotta, Shiseido Bronzer and bareMinerals Ready Bronzer.
If you have a bronzer, the next step is to pick the right tools. I love the Real Techniques Sculpting Brush for applying bronzer to the face because it blends everything in perfectly and also the shape makes it incredibly easy. I also would recommend the Real Techniques Retractable Brush for applying bronzer down the neck or for on-the-go touch ups.
When you do apply the bronzer, the best way to apply it for a natural and sun kissed look is to use a light, swirling motion. I have an oval face shape, so the best place for bronzer for me is on the higher points of my face. It’s easy to play around with what suits your individual face shape.
When the focus of the look is on the bronzer, it can be confusing when it comes to applying other face makeup. A peachy cream blush goes with any makeup look but it looks especially flattering when paired with lots of bronzer. To really enhance the bronzed goddess look, I would recommend a powder highlighter, such as the Laura Gellar Baked Swirl Illuminator, applied on the tops of the cheekbones and anywhere else where you would like to add light.
As this look is all about the bronzed effect, it works so nicely to also use the same bronzer on your eyes to really tie the whole effect together and make you look polished. The Dior Addict Fluid Shadows (particularly the shade Aurora) help to make everything look brighter and the shimmer really catches the light. Using the small Daniel Sandler Eyeshadow Brush 2, you can then work the bronzer into the crease of your eyelid and under your lashes. I find bronzers used as eye shadows always look incredible and make your eyes pop.
With a bronzed look, the focus is on the skin and so to finish this look we used a clear lip balm – the Nuxe Reve de Miel is the best balm around.
Until next time,
