Binky's Long Lasting Party Make-Up Tutorial

As always, I’ve been looking at your comments for some beauty blog inspiration and SuperRasmina has asked if I could do the perfect clubbing make-up look, for lasting party make-up.
It’s not the best kept secret that I love a big night out and it’s made all the more fun when you know your make-up is going to stay in place from start to finish, looking sexy till the moment you put your key in your front door.
There’s nothing worse for us wannabe Cinderellas at the ball than to turn into a pumpkin after midnight with make-up streaming down our faces.
So I’ve come up with some great all-night make-up that will go the distance – an indestructible copper smokey eye, and I’ve taken inspiration from the catwalks at Christan Dior and Diane von Furstenberg to create an amazing lip look that will stay kissable till the early hours.
How To Do Long Lasting Party Makeup With Binky
Step 1 – Prime time
It’s obvious, but to keep your make-up in place all night it’s a good bet to start with a primer. Your primer will smooth out your skin ensuring your foundation has something to cling onto. The bareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer feels like you’re smoothing a layer of silk onto your skin. Simply apply this on to a clean, dry face with your fingers.
Step 2 – Keep it matte
When it comes to foundation choose a formulation that’s high coverage and has a matte finish. You want to keep shine free and flawless under the hot lights. Start at the centre of your face, focusing on your nose, chin, cheeks and forehead and blend outwards with a foundation brush. Don’t forget to blend down your neck as well to avoid the foundation ‘tide mark’. After you’ve applied your foundation, tackle any blemishes with the Vichy Dermablend Ultra Corrective Cream Stick, focus on any redness you may have around the nose, dark spots or blemishes.
Step 3 – Smoke it up
This week I’m experimenting with copper shades on my eyes. I’m using the Daniel Sandler Eyeshadow Quad in Beyond Sunset. The shades are very rich and give off great, intense colour. Start with the light brown shade and blend this all the way up to your brow. Then take the darker shade and sweep this on the top of the lash line and under your lower lashes too. For a hint of sparkle apply the copper shade on the centre of your eyelid. This smokey eye is less intense than using a black based palette so you can play up your lips a bit more later.
Step 4 – And set
To make sure everything stays in place, set your make-up with a powder. I’m using the Daniel Sandler Invisible Veil Powder. With this, a little goes a long way. You want to blot out any oil, so tap off the excess and sweep over your t-zone. These types of powder get skin photo-ready and shine free, perfect for impromptu photos!
Step 5 – Add some glow
My make-up look wouldn’t be the same without a bronzer. I’m using the He Shi Fusion Multi Bronzer, give your bronzer brush a swirl and apply the bronzer just under your cheek bones to contour.
Step 6 – Get lippy
Finally, apply a lip stain. A lip stain is the perfect option for a night out, you’ll still get all the playful colour you need without having to top up throughout the night. Lipsticks and glosses are great but if you want your colour to stay put with no fuss, a lip stain is the best option. The bareMinerals Lip Colour in Moxie is an adorable cool neon pink . Simply dab the product on with your finger concentrating most of the colour at the centre of your lips to get the perfect pout.
So, that’s how to create a long lasting party look that’s set to stay all night. Now all you need is a night out to go with it!
