Binky's Dramatic Inky Eye Tutorial

Binky Dramatic Inky Eye

Binky's Signature

I don’t know about you, but when I have a really important night coming up I plan my look weeks in advance. I spend hours trying out endless outfits and experimenting with my make-up to ensure I’ll look my very best.

Well, I have a seriously special night on the horizon. It’s the launch party for my brand new fashion range, Lipstick Boutique! I am totally psyched about the collection, and though I’m a little nervous, I can’t wait to reveal the designs I’ve worked on for so long.

As you can imagine, the launch party is a really special moment for me and I want to look fabulous. So I’ve called in professional help in the shape of Daniel Sandler, my absolute favourite make-up artist ever. He’s going to show me how to do a dramatic, inky-eyed look for my big night.

Daniel Sandler Invisible Radiance Foundation and Concealer in Honey

Step 1: The Skin

“I want Binky’s complexion to look perfect but not caked in heavy make-up, so I started with Clarins Instant Light Complexion Perfector, which is a light, dewy highlighter,” explains Daniel. Using a foundation brush, blend it onto the highest part of the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, the forehead and the upper lip line.

Next apply your base. Daniel Sandler Invisible Radiance Foundation has the ideal lightweight finish, helping create that pretty dewy finish. It comes with its own concealer in the lid, so lightly brush foundation over the face, then take a little of the concealer on your finger and tap it around the under eye area to disguise any dark circles.

Step 2: The Eyes

Begin the eyes by applying eyeliner in thick lines along the lower waterline and upper lash line. Daniel used Guerlain’s Terra Ora Khol Me Kajal Eye Pencil in Noir Volcanique, which has a chunky, crayon type liner that allows you apply lots of rich, dark colour.

Now, using the same eyeliner, take the black all over the lid. Working with your fingers or a sponge applicator, blend towards the socket line, creating a wash of colour. “The clever thing about this pencil is its soft consistency that allows you to graduate the colour, so you can go from a smoky grey to a really heavy black with just one product,” says Daniel. Tidy up any mistakes or unwanted residue with a foundation brush or cotton bud.

This is eye make-up with added drama, so finish up with lashings of black mascara. Try Daniel Sandler Jumbo Jet Mascara.

Step 3: The Cheeks

“Binky loves bronzer, we all know that,” laughs Daniel. It’s important that your skin tone matches your body, so a touch of bronzer will work with the rest of Binky’s lightly tanned skin. Apply Daniel Sandler Watercolour Creme Bronzer to the cheeks with your fingers for an instant warm glow. Daniel also added a touch of this cream bronzer to Binky’s lips, to pull the whole look together

Step 4: The Lips

This look pairs dramatic dark eyes with a pretty pale lip, so finish up by applying a drop of Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in a gorgeous shade called Icing. Blend it on with a small brush before pressing it in with your fingers.

I totally LOVE the finished result. Daniel has created a make-up look that’s sexy and full of attitude – just like my new fashion range.

I’m all set for my big night. Wish me luck!
