The Beauty Team's April Favourites

Beauty April Favourites

We’re a busy bunch at Escentual HQ. When we’re not launching new products onto the website we’re talking about them, scoping out the best of the best to add to our ever-expanding personal stash. Our haul this month is particularly exciting; the summer make-up collections are just starting to launch, skincare has gotten zingier, and fragrance has taken on an irresistible new freshness.

So, from fresh-on-the-site newness to time-honoured favourites, here are the products that we couldn’t get enough of in April…

Is it just me, or does spring make you feel like your whole wardrobe and beauty regime needs a complete clean up? For all those that concur, I can guarantee that you’ll find a product in my top three that will pull at your heart strings. Basing my decision-making on game changer products that will boost my current routine, I’ve managed to find 3 absolute grafters that bring me closer to achieving this month’s ‘try and be more natural’ beauty goals.

Sachajuan Ocean Mist
Forget putting your hair in a bun, it’s time to embrace your waves ready for summer! A must-have for all year round, this super-savvy spritz is perfect for those who tend to be last minute with their hair styling (my hand is up right now). If you want to achieve a chic yet ‘finished’ style in an instant, believe the hype, voluptuous volume and tousled texture is only a few sprays away!

Laura Geller Filter Finish Baked Radiant Setting Powder
Timing its launch very nicely with this month’s beauty goals of operation ‘complexion perfection’, the Laura Geller Filter Finish powder has answered all of my balancing/brightening needs. Fitted with colour correction, longevity and a physical filter effect, its gotten to the point where I cannot leave the house without a sweep and set of this truly magical powder!

Institut Esthederm Osmoclean Lightening Buffing Mask
For me, stumbling across an unbeknown beauty hero is like gold dust and let’s just say, I struck bullion bars with this one. If you’re happy with your current routine and you’re looking for a transformative treatment that simply beautifies, the Osmoclean Lightening Buffing Mask is just what you need. Combining the potency of a mask and scrub in one, this sting-free solution lets you get used to the amazing feeling of great skin days – win!

What a month for new launches. Limited editions, Escentual exclusives, amazing innovations… it’s all been happening! I’ve been going through a bit of a skincare and beauty renaissance during April, paring back my collection and focusing on things that do the job really, really well. With that in mind, favourites this month are ticking all the right boxes…

GIVENCHY Les Saisons Healthy Glow Powder
For me, 2016 belongs to Givenchy Beauty. While every single launch so far this year has been pretty stellar, my personal favourite is Les Saisons Healthy Glow Powder. This ‘bonne mine’ bronzer has been created with an innovative baked gel formula, which makes for a much finer powder and an imperceptible, ultra natural finish on the skin. It’s so perfect for people like me who need their bronzer to be completely foolproof! Read more about it here.

Guerlain Radiance In A Flash Instant Radiance & Tightening
The Guerlain My Super Tips skincare collection is a really exciting range for those who need a little something extra in their skincare routine. Each product targets specific concerns, and is meant to work alongside your existing regimen in an SOS, ‘as you need it’ sort of way. My favourite is Radiance In A Flash, which gives a (really addictive) instant fix for complexions that are dull and lacklustre. It tightens, brightens and revives skin – if you have a special event coming up, you need this.

Jean Paul Gaultier Classique Eau Fraiche
What a fun fragrance! With an entirely reworked composition for summer 2016, Jean Paul Gaultier Classique Eau Fraiche blends the iconic orange blossom signature of Classique with fresh yet sensual facets of tropical tiare flower. An icy splash of lemon sorbet brings the scent into sharper focus, whilst sugar cane juice adds sweetness. It’s the perfect summer cocktail and a fragrance collector’s dream- I’ll just let that spectacular Betty Boop packaging speak for itself…

April for me has been all about bouncing between old and new favourites! A great month for beauty, it’s safe to say that my makeup, skincare and fragrance collection has had a face lift with three new (amazing) additions. Now that all three have become firm staples in my stash, it’s time I share them with you…

Ole Henriksen Truth Sugar Glow Polishing Mask
If there’s anything you try this month, make it this. The multi-action mask gently polishes the skin, helping to reveal a brighter, smoother complexion in just 5-10 minutes. As soon as I tried this I fell head over heels. Not only does it smell delicious it made my skin feel brand new.

Shiseido Synchro Skin Foundation
A new release in April, Synchro Skin has completely exceeded my expectations! Perfect whatever your skin type, it works in sync with the skin, adapting as skin conditions change for long-lasting, flawless coverage. It’s become a staple in my makeup bag since its release and I can’t stop telling people about it! Intrigued? Watch our tutorial here.

D&G 3 L’Impératrice Eau de Toilette
A vibrant blend of exotic fruits and feminine floral notes, 3 L’Imperatrice used to be one of my all-time favourite perfumes. I say used to be, because until very recently I hadn’t enjoyed its juicy, mouth-watering aroma in some time. Reunited at last I can now sleep easy knowing that I have my summer scent well and truly in the bag.

Over to you!
