Beauty Team Favourites - March 2017

It’s been a busy month for the Escentual Beauty Team! From weddings and birthdays to weekend getaways, March has come and gone in the blink of an eye, and we’re pretty sad to see the back of it!

But March hasn’t only been great for of our social calendars, it’s also been ablaze with exciting new product launches too. So, instead of sulking about the end of a spectacular month, we’ve collated a blog post with all the newness we’ve been loving – because we’re not ready to let go, just yet…

Bumble and Bumble Color Stick
My hair is a bit of a sticking point for me; I love the colour, but I hate the condition. So to try and balance things up a bit I’ve been trying to dye my hair less… but that means my greys are coming out to play! This new launch from Bumble and bumble isn’t the first cover-up style product out there and it won’t be the last, but it’s definitely the best one I’ve tried so far. The waxy colour stick works wonders when subtly helping greys to lie flat, and it instantly dries to a powdery, blendable finish that covers up those metallic strands with ease. Its genius pen format means that you can slip it into your makeup bag or pocket for ultra-discreet touch-ups wherever you are, AND it’s water resistant. It’s an instant hair transformation that’ll last until your next wash!

Guerlain Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum
It’s no secret that I’m a bit of Guerlain fan girl, so I tried to approach their brand new scent Mon Guerlain from a neutral standpoint to give it a fairer test. And the unsurprising verdict? Yep, I really, really love Mon Guerlain. In my defence, the elegant oriental scent is pretty hard not to fall for with its swathes of creamy vanilla, structural sandalwood and a heart of utterly voluptuous sambac jasmine, all contained within a latticework of Carla lavender. The combination of cool sophistication and inviting sensuousness makes you feel like you’re wearing something truly special.

Givenchy Les Saisons Healthy Glow Powder – Douce Saison
Have you ever seen a more beautiful bronzer? This limited edition Givenchy Les Saisons Healthy Glow Powder is the sort of product I would design for myself given the chance; it’s oversized, has a one-off design (steady yourselves Givenchy collectors) and it bestows the most gorgeously natural glow to the skin. I took this away with me for my wedding this month as the gypsophila print of the powder matched the gypsophilia that I carried in my bouquet – talk about beauty kismet. If you love the look of this, move quickly, it’s not here for long!

Caudalie Vine Overnight Detox Oil
First things first, this is not exactly a new product, it’s actually one that has been loved since its initial release back in 2014. But this month Caudalie gave this cult-favourite (formerly known as Polyphenol C15) a face-lift, re-naming it Vine and giving it swish new packaging. The most important thing to note is that the much-loved formula has not been touched; it’s still 100% natural, rich in Omega 6 and vitamin E, and will do an excellent job at revitalising your skin overnight. I’m never letting this fatigue-battling oil out of my sight again!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo <+> SPF30
As I write this I realise I’ve had a soft spot for invigorated old favourites this month! Which leads me nicely to the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo <+> SPF30, an acne-eliminating treatment that’s been adored for almost ten years now. And this month, La Roche-Posay gave the formula a spruce-up. Perfect for city dwellers, regulary exposed to UV rays and pollution, this blemish-busting treatment contains added ACTIVE SHIELD XL PROTECT with SPF30, PPD (UVA protection) and Carnosine, an antioxidant that helps to prevent damage caused by pollution. For me, this product is a great all-rounder that’s so easy to slip into your routine.

Shiseido Synchro Skin Glow Luminizing Fluid Foundation
I’ve had a soft spot for Shiseido foundations ever since they launched the original Synchro Skin last year. However, despite my love for the original, I often found myself wanting something a little more radiance-enhancing (I have normal to combination skin, so can bounce back and forth quite nicely). This is why the launch of the Synchro Skin Glow Luminizing Fluid Foundation was music to my ears! With a dewy finish and 8 hours of hydration, Synchro Skin Glow is the perfect pick when I fancy something a little more glowy! And since March is my birthday month I thought it a fitting month to add a dash of glow…

Narciso Rodriguez For Her Fleur Musc Eau de Parfum Spray
Call me biased, but I’ll never not love a Narciso fragrance. There’s something extra special about Fleur Musc; the striking pink bottle and blooming bouquet makes me feel like a real glamour puss whenever I spritz. I love it. The juice is bursting with peony leaves intertwined with the signature musk core, making it a dominant floral take on the iconic For Her scent, which I adore.

Decleor Phytopeel Smooth Exfoliating Cream
Whenever I need to sort the texture of my skin out, I dive straight into my beauty drawer and grab my Decleor Phytopeel Exfoliating Cream – urgently! As my unevenness is often down to blemishes or dehydration, this sensitive-skin-friendly exfoliator just works. Not just on my texture, but also on my under eye bags too, which is rare.

bareMinerals Invisible Bronze Powder Bronzer
Recently I’ve ditched the contoured look, now, I’m all about a healthy, post-holiday glow as I find it more subtle and flattering. The new bareMinerals Invisible Bronze is perfect for helping me re-create a healthy, bonne mine glow. Its medium shade is ideal for every day, as it hasn’t got that over-done orange undertone. Winning.
