April is always an indulgent month in HQ! With all of our schedules getting busier, treating ourselves to masses of Easter eggs and the latest luxury beauty has its strong points, you know. But in-between stuffing our faces and swatching the latest lipstick launches, we’ve been busy picking out our favourites for you to fall in love with, too!
Not only do we have 9 of the best new launches for you to enjoy, we also have BIG news to share with you! We’re pretty excited to announce that our lovely Editor, Emma is expecting a beautiful baby at the end of May, so this will be her last beauty team favourites for a while! Make the most of Emma’s recommendations whilst you can…

Vichy Slow Age Fluid SPF25
As a beauty writer rapidly approaching my 30s, I’m surprised at how long I’ve resisted age-defying skincare. I’ve always relied upon a big whack of moisture, SPF and a good night’s sleep as the best tonic for my skin, but lately, things have started to change. Those fine dehydration lines on my forehead that used to be smoothed away with a rehydrating moisturiser? Yep, they’ve taken up permanent residence. I’m in need of a bit of extra help.
Vichy’s brand new Slow Age skincare collection initially snagged my attention as it promises to work on the skin’s overall health, rather than lines and wrinkles. It does this by shielding the complexion from oxidation, UVA and pollution, and actively slowing down early signs of ageing. I’ve been using the ultra lightweight Slow Age Fluid SPF25 during the day and I’m loving the dewy and plump results so far.
Bioderma Photoderm MAX Spray SPF50+
I don’t know whether it’s the economical size of this bottle, or the novelty of a trigger spray mechanism, but I absolutely adore the format of this sunscreen! It’s such a breeze to apply (which, as we all know, is half the battle with sun protection), and its maximum SPF50+ protection makes it suitable for all the family.
It’s not all just fun and games though; Bioderma Photoderm MAX is a really impressive formula, with extreme anti-UVA and –UVB performance that diligently shields your skin from sunburn, intolerances and premature ageing. And the texture? Soft, silky and extremely comfortable to wear. Use it on both your face and body, and stay protected all summer long.
Lancome Le Nuit Tresor
It’s been a little while since I’ve had my head turned by a sumptuous fragrance; my tastes of late have erred on the fresher side of things. But Lancome’s Le Nuit Tresor is the sort of scent that can’t easily be ignored, whatever your usual preference is.
Le Nuit Tresor is the sort of aroma that was just made for an evening rendezvous, with velveteen, almost edible accords that are inspired by a night spent under the stars. The aphrodisiac fragrance starts off with a juicy touch of lychee, before plummeting into a tempting starscape of rose damascene, incense, vanilla orchid, praline and patchouli. It’s one to remember.

Guerlain Terracotta Collector Ultra-Matte Bronzing Powder
You know summer has arrived when the Guerlain Terracotta bronzers arrive on site, and by golly, are they beautiful. Matte bronzers are my thing and this makeup essential has completely revived my healthy glow game, with zero effort. I adore the hue, the packaging, the smell… Also, how pretty this compact looks on my vanity table as well as my cheekbones makes me that extra bit happy.
Givenchy Vax’In For Youth Beautifying Mist High Protection Urban Shield SPF30
After researching the effects of pollution to skin for my Pollution-fighting blog post, I realised that I cannot and should not leave the house without a spritz of the Givenchy Vax’In Urban Shield. Protector, moisturiser and all round beauty essential, its super powers keep my skin shielded when on my daily commute or when I’m out and about with pals. City dwellers – you need this too!
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Sebo-Controlling Mask
Yes, the incredible Effaclar range now has its own face mask and yes, I’m already hooked. Without over-drying and over-purifying my skin, its sensitive-skin friendly formula uses the power of 3 clays to cleanse and limit oil secretions. It’s been my weekly treat since it launched back at the start of April and it’s safe to say, I’ve already fallen in love with it.

Dior Nude Air Luminizer Serum
We’ve been really lucky with the weather lately here in the UK, and I for one have taken full advantage. I’ve cast aside my autumn wardrobe, dusted off my sunglasses and am now opting for more of a ‘glowy’ makeup look. My new go-to for achieving this is the Dior Nude Air Luminizer Serum, and despite only being in my possession for a short while I can safely say that I am smitten! The ultra-fluid luminizer adds a natural glow to skin thanks to iridescent pigments while blurring agents give the skin a flawless appearance – it’s everything I could ever want in a highlight, and more!
Gucci Bamboo Eau de Parfum Spray Limited Edition
I have a little soft spot in my heart for limited edition fragrances. I mean, what could be better than your favourite fragrance all dressed up? As soon as I saw that Gucci Bamboo was now available in a new blush-toned bottle I knew I had to have it, and I haven’t looked back since! Not only can I rely on it to make me smell wonderful, with it’s oriental, woody aroma, but it always does a sterling job of lifting my mood, with every spritz!
Roger & Gallet Aura Mirabilis Legendary Fluid
The Roger & Gallet Aura Mirabilis skincare collection has been one of my favourites ever since it launched in October of last year. Why I hear you ask? Well, that’s easy, the range has everything I could ever want in skincare; great ingredients, elegant packaging and beautiful textures. This month, Roger & Gallet unveiled the Legendary Fluid and I have been using it ever since. Lightweight, with a satin-finish, the fluid contains 18 natural essences that illuminate and even the complexion. And I can report that it does that and more, my skin looks the best it has in a long time!
